This is the story the way I WISH it had been written. I don't know why J K Rowling wanted Harry to be an abused child (and never seeing a picture of your parents until you are 11 and go to Hogwarts is as much abuse as calling him 'Freak' and letting/encouraging Dudley to beat him up), but it's bollocks! Sirius SHOULD have raised Harry. Even an immature manchild should have known better than to let Hagrid take Harry to Dumbledore because how immature could Sirius still have been with - one doesn't stay an immature manchild while fighting in the midst of a war. Honestly! Because of that alone, I think all the movies were a bit better than the book. I loved Sirius as played by Gary Oldham! Guess that is obvious, eh? Mohr to come sorry - that's a play on my married name.

You could also switch to ao3. I'm speaking from experience here. I've seen many writers get discouraged after seeing the reviews on their story. Because of all the depraved shit that is posted on ao3, nobody is going to care what you do with your story.
Either way, I want to read your story again. If you switch to ao3 or a new account, please post a warning.

Why would Dumbledore assume that Harry has a horcrux in his scar? He's never even met him before. He doesn't know that it will react in the presence of voldemort. He doesn't know that there is dark magic in the scar. He didn't even know there was a scar in the first place until they met in this chapter. I don't even recall you mentioning a scar myself. This idea of a character reaching the correct conclusion completely out of the blue really makes me lose interest in a story.

I got to say your first chapter is probably one of the best first chapters I've ever read and I've been reading fanfiction for 12:15 years now. your version of creature in chapter 1 the single best I've ever seen I loved him and all his comments he would make but then all the sudden he's just not even a real character he's more of a plot device now that you use occasionally. the info that you give regarding Peter just makes it all big a mess even more so than it was.. everyone knows including the ministry that Serius kidnapped Harry but also on the same coin you also stated that Dumbledore told the ministry he sent Harry to live in America till things cool down... when Harry's back even the ministry talks to him but they don't ask anything about where he's been or nothing they just say they're putting diminished there to protect them from the guy that they think he's been living with for the past 12 years none of it makes sense you've got two different stories going on.
