we weathered things thanks to the windfall of insurance money from my mom's passing, we stocked up the freezers and dry/canned goods, cooking mainly scratch made pantry stocking reasonably easy. I know we went through almost 300 kilos of flour in 2 years between 4 people and both sourdough starter and 10 pounds of yeast.

Please keep going on this. I will tell you that fan fiction is the only thing that preserved my sanity while working on my Masters' Degree. So, yes, it is something just for you that can take you mind off all of the stuff going on around you and allow you to dream. Such a wonderful story deserves to keep going. ;-)

As one of our radio personalitiez said: what was up with the toilet paper?!
Thank god the guy in charge of Proctor and Gamble called Trump and got permission to ramp up production of the essentials: toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning goods, and feminine products. I have a feeling the guy's wife had a hand in the list lol.
We all kept it together and kept life going.
Hope you all fared as well in the UK.

Welcome back! I'm so sorry to hear of your SIL's illness. My prayers are with you all. Thank God for the advances made with liver cancer treatment.
Covid really has changed the way we live our lives. Things were much the same here. There were actually guards at the grocery stores to prevent hoarding of essentials!
