It was in general a great chapter, I only have one grievance, Mary got free just by the plot armor it did feel too forced by literary being 'Mary Su'

Wilhelm learning the hard way there was a reason Tanya almost lost the first time. If it was Mary seeing the human side of him that Damien wanted to save that was the reason she chose to spare him, then Sophia did end up saving Will's life in a twisted way. The dark irony of Wilhelm being absolutely decimated and possibly hospitalized within the same hour as Tanya wishing for his return so he can assist with the kampfgruppe. You don't have to worry about Wilhelm not being sympathetic, though I do worry about the path he will take after suffering so much loss. Despite their choices, Being X has done nothing but bring out the worst in two people, instead of placing them in circumstances where they could have been their best selves.

You really had to twist the knife. You are a certified cat-kicker. Now I'm stuck with this... sensation of my guts churning. My entrails feel... like they're slathered in chili. I've always disliked this type of ending for side characters, I can only hope for retribution imparted by Will unto Mary, one in which she suffers his fate: to see friends die.

after reading the entire story, i finally can leave a review. Man, I do like this story very much. You do a great job at creating wonderful characters. I mean Willie here, he's such a RAT of a human being, one where you could toss him around because he's being annoying and then pat his head because you feel bad. Also Mary is so insufferably annoying you might have made her even worse than in the LN. The Letzenbourgers are the actual war maniacs Tanya thinks of everyone and the world thinks of the empire lmao, I love how they're so hyperfocused on the saint.
feel bad for drake, as I always do. He might be one of the only characters who is actually sympathetic in the series lol.
