I've waited a LONG time for the return of Maxwell and enjoyed every morsel. One snarky comment out of a dozen thumbs up isn't worth consideration. Can't please everyone. Maybe on his next outing Maxwell can bring a compatriot to look after Slim?

Maxwell should know better than to drink. Guardian angels aren't human. They can't drink - literally. Since this is a fantasy I'll overlook that.

So nice to see Maxwell back. I enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed your first guardian angel story. It made me laugh at the same time I worried about what Maxwell would with his continuing feather loss. At least this time he seemed to be having a little bit more fun then he had the last time. If the boys only knew who he was.
It’s certainly fun to have a light hearted story about our boys, after all a lot of the series had some great moments of hilarity.

Welcome back, Maxwell! (Funny little, serious, hard-working Maxwell.)
By now he knows that the job as Guardian Angel to one Jess Harper is a full-time 24/7 job filled with excitement. Jess is aging him fast - but he did discover that he also enjoyed one of Jess' vices, imbibing at the saloon! What we had on the road to the ranch from the saloon was a case of 19th century three stooges!
