I’m liking the story so far, but ut feels like the deeper you go into using gun powder the more you dilute the fantasy aspect of the world. In the begining it was like an advantage so he would have an logical leg up to help with the conquering of cities, but now its’s just becoming the only reason he even wins in the wars. Idk if he gets guns and makes knights obsolete im gonna have to stop readinng the story, because at that point even a well placed bullet could be the end of a dragon and its not game of thrones anymore to me, it might as well just be medieval times with modern weaponry and i picked the story because i wanted more about the world of a song of ice and fire. This is for me personally and just an opinion but introducing gunpowder might be the biggest mistake you made writing this, because now that it’s there, it has to be used, but because it’s being used its taking away from the swords and shield, dragons and magic, fantasy elemnts that are in this world. I feel like it would have been more entertaining and imaginative if the battles and wars continued like it did during the grey joy rebellion, where he had to use skill and strategy with not that much of an advantage to win the battle, but because of gunpowder, literally just one thing, you’ve made it so that reasonably he could never lose a battle again, because he has superior weaponry, he literally can’t lose and that’s killing the suspense for me. Just my opinion but it’s still an interesting read and better that other alternatives on the site. The only solution would be retconning it by making it because he was so secretive about it’s production only a certain few of his party know how to make it and someone blows up the lab where you keep all the research and the people who know how to make it. Because whats the point of having so many close side characters who are excellent warriors and strategists if frankly, he’s allways going to fall back on some gun powder invention to win when it’s not an individual battle.
Sorry for the long rant.

I just hope no templar order pops up.
But good to know plans are in place for the kingdoms.
