Just In
for Stupid questions

Dropping a note here to say this is something I'm always amused to read. I have wondered what would have happened if Laughs Brightly had jumped into the access tube with the tool. Seeing Nimitz would have really caused a few issues, since I'm sure evvvvvvverybody in the Fleet knows who he is. That would have caused a few lightbulbs to go on in that chief's head!

As a Navy vet, I can tell you the same thing happens nowadays including the chief having no clue who was in the space or spoke such a stupid question.

I enjoyed this very much. It brought back memories because I had something VERY similar happen to me many years ago. Unfortunately, I was the person performing the repair and my captain stopped by to investigate. After 72 straight hours of repair and unable to see who it was that was thumping my leg, they got a swift kick, (unknown where it landed). Two hours later, repairs complete, I had a commendation and the next 72 hours (underway) to relax.

A great fun re-imagining of an old story.

Amusing story.
