I doubt Hermione's meeting with her parents would be peaceful in canon without JK smoothing the way for her perfect little self insert.
I don't blame them for being pissed at her for her brutal and arrogant treatment of them, it clearly show she has gone native and now thinks muggles have no rights but what she decides to let them have.
Congratulations Hermione, you are now the perfect pure blood bitch, just like Malfoy.
What she did is little more than mental murder, or as Babylon5 called it, the death of personality.
And if she could get them out of the UK on a plane (which requires passports and a ton of documents) it show just how much planning she put into disposing of them, giving the lie to JK's implied last minute idea.
This is just one of the many reasons I can't stand Hermione Granger.

Must have missed this one when you posted it. It's a bit unlike Harry, fits in well with my theory that the first thing the wand does is start to drive its owner insane. A bit like getting superpowers in the Worm universe.

Nice one - The Australian thing is the least forgivable action Hermione takes in the whole series. It's always good to see it having consequences, not least because she isn't a trained obliviator and could really hurt them if she made a mistake. Quoting one of my own stories - "DIY brainwashing. What could possibly go wrong?"

This was great. I think the issue of Goblin war or trouble would be a major concern for Harry. I liked the use of the Elder wand as a motivating factor, its destruction seemed a wasted opportunity in the book.
I wonder what Harry won.

I always thought Griphook got away too easy. While Voldemort killed him, it should be Harry who punished him for the betrayal.

I'm thinking the change in the exchange rate is the goblins making muggle borns pay for the repairs to the bank, or was it just a goblin profit gouging?
A sharp lesson that Dumbledore always ignore, sometimes violence IS the best thing to do.
His love of talk and plots led to several wars which probably would never have happened if he wasn't such a coward.
