When you described Captain Elpall Shin, I immediately found myself imagining the actor Colin Salmon with a moustache. Your later reference to Shin having a 'prim Core Worlder accent' helped to solidify this impression. I thought I would mention this in case it appeals to you. :)

I am normally not the biggest fan of self inserts, but you have made your Luke work really well! There is a lot of character building but you have also progressed the plot. I loved Luke meeting Mara Jade and hope she will reappear soon. in short, I am so gald I stumbled upon this gem of a story. I hope to read updates soon! Its also weird that mc considers music to be undeveloped in Star Wars. But bethink about cantinia music from the first movie. In legends you can also remember about music that can heal body.
You also can remember about exclusive music with a price of over 5 millions, Boba Fett listened this music and he liked it. And etc.
It is also more like a child - to think that you are the best and always right.

How mc conversation with Kenobi is strange. He did not have plan on that conversation in past. And he begins to think about how to explain his knowledge after Kenobi question...Why not behave like adult and prepare for this in past? To not try think about that in last moment... Like children who try lie to their parent in last moment...

In Legends he not training Luke or tell about Yoda(as spirit) before 100% sure Luke be fight against sith. And after blowing first Death star jedi guardian from Leia side, just mind control Luke at meet. This is be because this jedi think - its be good for Luke to stay in unknown, to not fall in dark then he get powers...
So you risking to wipe memory when you want meet Kenobi. look at the lesson - dont chase power into unknown.
Coz you relying on the knowledge you didn't get. No guarantee that everything was 100% like in stories. But any way you had a chance of bumping into a fanatic. It would be better not to meet with him at all or try to get any confirmation of peaceful Kenobi before start talk.

P.S. I also agree with way to SI in Luke made by Scandalf. His way is really like a safe way for real man and not for baby.
