This is excellent storytelling. Enjoyable story with interesting characters, You have a talent and you're using it right. I liked the character of Bruce. As an artist, I can make the character art of Bruce in good price. If you're interested feel free to reach me on my social accounts which is in my bio

Ah, such a nice and satisfying ending. Seeing the difference in their relationship a year later makes this relationship even more endearing. It's so natural, and I love that Tim finds this particularly special. Even though things were probably natural with his father, I'm inclined to think that Tim generally remembers his parents with rose-colored glasses. Although this story is from the perspective of Tim, he might be an unreliable narrator. That being said, it is nice to see him with a healthy father figure.
Overall, the setup of this story and its completed arc is great. I've mentioned before that I love how you wrote it to basically be about a father who lost his son growing close to a son who lost his father. The focus on healing is gorgeous and definitely my favorite aspect of the story as a whole. That being said, there's SO much else I love about the story. I love the well-rounded characters who aren't here much but have so much to contribute when they are here (like Tam, Joe, and Dana). I love the simple sweetness that Tim takes out of life. He's so depressed in this particular fic that it's hard to pick out, but it speaks volumes about his character that he can take enjoyment and see beauty in all the kindness of others and notice the tiniest details. He's just a lovely person. The fact that there's no real commentary on how well he does his job is an extended taciturn compliment. It works a lot better for this fic that no one talks about how great he is at his job - much better than if those comments were here. The LACK of statements really just proves that he is amply good at what he does. I love the subtlety of it.
I can't compliment this short but beautiful piece enough. You really do a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. Love your work!

Awww! Great chapter. I love how Bruce takes only the time of this conversation to decide, and the fact that Tim does as well is testament to how similar they both are. One of the things I love about Tim as a character is exactly that: of all the Robins, he's easily the most like Bruce in personality and in the way he goes about his business and relationships. It's really endearing and possibly the main reason why I like Tim Drake the most of... basically almost all comic characters. Shame that DC has trashed him so much over the years. At least I have fanfic to save him from all the mortifying shame that DC is dragging him through though LOL. Can't wait to finish chapter 6!

Awwww poor, poor Tim. And his doctor is just doing what he knows needs to be done. Overall, this was a beautiful chapter with that same hollow and sluggish feel that seems to pull it along. Tim is written perfectly, and so is Bruce. Both of them are very much themselves and not at all caricatured into being too simple and too obvious. I just love your characterization. Stories like this, though slow and drifting, tend to be my favorite in a lot of ways. I could read pieces like this forever and not get bored!

Awww, VERY good chapter. The fact that this story is about Bruce having lost a son and Tim having lost a father, and the two of them coming together... it actually made me realize that the comics could have gone further in this direction, and I'm a little sad that they didn't. Well, they did to some extent but not quite in the same way. In any case, loved this chapter as well. PS I looked up that clip of Joe's and loved it. I love those two series so much... the first one especially is a masterpiece, and I don't use that word lightly.

Another great chapter. The tone in this is so haunting, slow, pained, and beautiful. It's like the story follows a wound slowly being healed at the exact speed it would in reality. I really love the way you write both Tim and Bruce so much. It was a surprise and a really sweet one to find out that Tim asked for Bruce to be called that day. Very, very sweet.

Bruce is so soft here…this is the man he would have needed to be to become anything other than Batman. This is SO beautiful.

This just proves that all his sons are drawn to him even when they weren’t robin. I dunno probably just the family obsessed dork in me. I still like to think their souls are intertwined throughout the multiverse though

It would be a bit interesting to see this Tim meet Dick.. and even Jason. Although since it’s a non-cape AU I’m not sure how it would happen.. Maybe Tim going to see Dana or such at a hospital or even Dana going to visit a ‘friend’ she made during her stay and Tim finding Jason there..

*settles back in chair* Ah, so guess who actually has time now that Thanksgiving is here? Looks like this is going to be a good read!
Okay, so for starters- I love that you tell us that Tim had to crane his neck to actually look at Bruce. It’s sooo much better than just telling us that he was tall. And it really kind of gives us a glimpse of how nervous Tim must be- which is understandable. He’s in an entirely new environment and… as someone who’s had a few anxiety attacks when entering into new environments, I find this very relatable.
Also, Caroline Crown- nice work with the alliteration! A nice throwback to when comic characters’ names had to, well, alliterate- is that a word? It’s a word now. I mean… they still do alliterate, because their names didn’t change, but… *flaps hand in the wind* whatever.
“A hand extends, gold cufflinks sparkling.” Again, love this detail. I know Tim also comes from money so he’s probably used to people dressing like this, but it still kind of adds to the vibe that Tim is feeling a bit out of his league here.
And the handshake! Love how Bruce is just working to put Tim at ease here.
Also, Tim’s uncertainty when it comes to Bruce is just so… ouch. Like, honestly, why would he trust Bruce, all things considered right now? Bruce is the CEO of a massive company. He’s a powerful man. Why would he waste time on someone like Tim? (ASKFBGV, Timmy! You’re not a waste of time!) But I’m looking forward to seeing that trust build between the two of them.
And you included Dana! I don’t remember how I felt about her- I don’t think she made enough of an impression on me, but the fact that you included her is so interesting!
Oof, that ending though! That was… that was heavy. I wonder what the circumstances surrounding his father’s death in this will be… Poor Timmy!

Good 'ol contemplative silence by the sea while talking to you long dead father. And some good 'ok father figure sitting by your side while you wallow in a bit of sadness. We hit all the right points as we come around the title of the story. I give them all good cliches a big asss like and kudos.
I love a nice ending like this, it's like a written present (,:
On a last note, I really enjoy this strange thing Bruce and Tim had going, the inexplicable conetion (quite and kinda sudden) and the very poetic father missing son finds a son missing a father.
Anyway, I had quite the nice ride, thanks for the lovely trip :D
