Awe this story is so good and interesting!

Anakin and by consequence Vader always suffered from attachment issues to people he cares about and in the past losing his mom, wife, and brother (from his point of view it was a betrayal) sent him on a path to becoming the most iconic and feared Darkside user.
Having one of the only things that could possibly make Vader care in any small amount dangled right in front of him only for it to slip between his fingers forever (faked death) will send him into such an apocalyptic rage not senses the ending of the clone wars.
I honestly would no be surprised if his rage was so absolute the he could start tearing and twisting ships into nothing but scrap metal with Just the force.
I can't wait!

I loved this chapter. And Luke and Vader meeting in meditation is really awesome. Better than Kylo and Rey having Force Chats in unexpected places ...

Reply to frequent question and your subsequent answer: I totally get Luke's wobbly grasp on the Force. After all, at the beginning of Episode V, we see Luke struggle quite a bit to pick up his lightsaber in the Wampa cave, and how hard was it for him meditate and lift rocks in the air with no real distractions or stress on Dagobah? With everything that has happened to him on Bespin and his subsequent depression and blocking of his own Force link to his dad, naturally his control of the Force is really shaky. This is a really good story and I love it a lot. Had no idea how much I would love evil-protective-dad-Vader.

Dad Vader IS Best Vader, but with Leia.
Luke - Vader stuff is boring, mainly becuase the entire OT was basically about Luka and Vader, while Leia relation to Vader got no attention at all.
Vader - Leia stuff is where it's at. Always had the feeling that Luke would have been a Mummy's Boy while Leia would have been a Daddy's Girl
