A very nice mix of accurate character representations with intriguing plot points without unnecessary levels of drama. In other words, the fic feels like Overlord. Too bad the author has been inactive for quite some time, but that's just the way it works sometimes.

This is a wonderful fanfic and your Interpretation is spot on, Personally am curious if you will use more undead and show off different types Yourself. Think about all the creative combos you can do!
I think passives should be optional, and he should have an understanding about which passive abilities do what to buff his undead and be able to control some subtle aesthetic preferences but your story, your rules.
