I assume that Lycoris and Sirius are training Harry/Hadrian to be cunning and skilled in defense and survival skills.
I assume that Harry/Hadrian put on an act at the Weasleys but genuinely likes some of them. Ginny, (feeling sorry for her plus an attraction to her), Luna (feeling sorry for her), a bit for Arthur and Bill. This is the first story syauing that Artgur is much more competent and pbservant than he apoears. That his bumbling behavior is an act. It makes Artgur much more interesting and his sons (except Percy snd Ron) more credible. They have to have got their cunning from somewhere. Unless Percy is a deep cover spy for his family...
Lycoris doesn't want Ginny mostly because of her mother (truly a mpther-in-law from hell) and their strong ties to Dumbledore.
I assume that Harry/Hadrian knows Dumbledore is responsible of much of his childhood misery, but Harry puts on an act of movimg on. That he has no intention to coming back to Magical Britain until he is of age. Short unannounced visits, perhaps, but no pre-announced stay at Hogwarts or elsewhere.
I don't trust Dumbledore at all. I trust him to inform Snape immediately who will leak information to his DE friends, the ones cunning enoigh to stay out of Azkaban and to regain power. I see Snape as a smarter Pettigrew, one conxerned with saving his own skin. Snape is a teacher not just because of Albus, but his own wish to bully students and to destroy Potions education for Healers and Aurors. Only Slytherin Aurors and Healers come out of Hogwarts with NEWTs in Potions from the mid to late 1980s unless their families get them private tuition.
Snape interprets his vow to peitect "Lily's child" narrrowly. Save him from (put himself in front of) a werewolf, yes. Defend him from dementors, yes. All in third year. That was his finest moment. But destroy Potions education for all non-Slytherin students, bully him, and serve up endless detentions.
Canon Harry is a lazy student as well, not like his mother. He teams up with another lazy entitled student. If he had gone into Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw snd not become friends with Ron Weasley, I wonder if Snape would have seen more of Lily in him. That said, canon Snape is still a jerk and a bully.
I wish Lycoris had killed the DEs in Azkaban while she wss there. I asdume Arcturus forced her to leave the Malfoys and Lestranges alive,but that should have allowed her to kill Rookwood, Mulciber etc. Get in Muggle crinals (child rapisys snd child killers), potion them to the DE forms, kill them. Take out the non-Black DEs, kill them, transfigure them, and drop them into the ocean at different points. Arcturus is as much a fool as Dumbledore where his family is concerned.

dont you know, the number of jews killed by hitler is arbitrary. first it was the famous six million, than 5, than 3. And now it's been disclosed under less than a million jews died, whereas the jewish communists and commie mao from china killed 100 million people. even post war ww2, eisenhower and his western allies killed millions of germans. and cant forget the british, noone likes to talk about them starting the concentration camps in ww1. such evilness exists still today.

I will read stories where Snape’s nasty and where he’s on the right side. I can’t agree that he must be X because these details because JKR flip flops a lot - you call it trying to make him nicer, I call it having a handy “grey” character to pop in when needed. All I have to say is once you turn up the heat and Snape’s molesting then the other side needs more than housewives who unexpectedly are a whiz with the wand. Which you’re doing of course.

Fantastic story. The dichotomy between Meda and Lycoris makes for good reading. Both grandmother’s who have such different ways of protecting their families. They aren’t black and white characters, either. Sure, Lycoris is a sociopath, but she seems to live to protect Harry. And, Meda was ready to kill Harry (a child) to avenge her son. Fantastic work! Love this,

Came to this story after reading Dance of Death, and so far, mixed feelings on this one. To start off, I like Dance of Death more, by far.
I think this kind of exploring, hiking, meditating and stuff would be nice in a lighthearted fic, like something set Post-Voldemort Harry travelling and finally living life. However, all this camping and having fun shenanigans in school, doesn't seem to be usefulness for preparing him for what's coming. Nor does all this singing around campfires and sharing each other's trauma and whatnot.
I like the lore about the totem defender, of form shifters and face changers, I assume the former, like Harry allows for animal transformations whereas the latter is more the usual metamorph shape-shifting. So Harry is sort of a universal animagus but bad when it comes to taking on other human forms which I assume is what a normal metamorph like Lycoris is limited to, taking on other human features (however Tonks did form a pig snout in canon, then again this is AU). I do hope he eventually becomes just as proficient as Lycoris though.
It's rather disappointing he is not only low powerwise in relation DoD Harry, but also in skill, at least in combat, although it has been mentioned that Harry has been trained in subterfuge and assassination, as well as in poisons. I suppose Sirius will train him eventually, not to mention this Harry could simply assassinate Death Eaters in their homes rather than fighting them out in the open, following Lycoris' tutelage about how Snape survived and fighters like his parents died. I don't see the animal shifting ability beong useful for combat purposes, something like a tiger simply presents a larger target for a killing curse and also sacrifices the ability to cast magic after all. Might be useful for partial transformation like the owl eyes of DoD Harry. Could be useful to transform into something like a fly for getaways and sneaking in, especially since animagus reverting or detection spells won't work.
Luna being high on mushrooms is an interesting take, explaining quite a bit of her behavior in canon as well, as well as the loss of her mother.
Overall, not really enthusiastic about this one but will keep a watch on it, far more enthused about Dance of Death and Chasing Shadows though.
