I hated this chapter. Jon is so awkward and insecure that it isn't funny to read anymore.

Let's see: Dorne, the Stormlands, and even the Iron Islands will one day be home to their own line of "sorcerers", which in time could form their own orders to aid their realms. Shireen shores up the North's closeness with the throne, and Dorne and the Iron Islands ensure that neither will rebel for at LEAST two decades, cutting the two most likely sources of civil war at the knees. Once they take in Danym Olenna is going to go fucking APESHIT.
Even better, pretty much every major house of the Reach descends from Garth Greenhand, meaning every family has equal force potential, so there's a very good chance that the only sorcerer the Reach is getting is going to be one of the Tyrell's bitter enemies.
I know some people are probably pushing fot Margaery, but on a meta level, Arianne already fills that "politically adept seductress with a heart of gold" role. I think Loras would by far be the better choice for the "Reach" character in the story, because he would have a strong character arc ready-made; with his internal struggles with his homosexuality wrecking havoc on his control of his own emotions, and thus necessitating him to accept himself before he can fully progress as a character. Even better, if Loras's preferences become a bit of an open secret like they are in canon, it would bring Nox's "whatever" attitude with regard to non-straightness a very obvious cultural clashing point, right as he's accepted Westeros as his new home. Assuming Ashara stays at least somewhat similar from IATB (btw I still stan Harry/Ginny/Ahsoka OT3), she's had relationships with women as well as men, or at least recognizes she has the potential to, which means that is NOT a point Nox would back down on.
It'll especially be interesting to see how his attitude is taken by Northerners writ large, with the best case scenario leading to a lessening of the taboo in the North, boiling down to basically "hey the sorcerers right, why should we care what the Andals think. As long as you do your duty to your house..."
That could also have some interesting consequences for the paths of Arianne (get ready for the best wedding night ever Jon) and Asha (please please please write domme Nyra I will create you a Patreon and subscribe to it). Possibly Jon as well, due to the... lets say ambiguous nature of his relationship with Satin Flowers in canon. Also Arya, because there is no other character that better embodies the "MY GENDER IS SWORDS" meme. Seriously though, I've always read her as asexual. Not because of the tomboy thing, bc I read Lyanna as VERY much into men, but just something about her character in particular.
Also, I know some people will say the Vale would be the next smart choice for an apprentice based on purely political factors, because in the Stark-Arryn-Baratheon-Tully alliance that took the Iron Throne, the Arryns are the only ones not related to the others through marriage. However, I disagree, because that problem could easily be solved WITH a marriage, unlike the situations with Dorne and the Iron Islands. The North (or anyone in the alliance) will NEVER get a marriage to either of those tie them to the throne, so they basically have to train up their own claimant and give them enough personal power to become a major player, regardless of previous standing.

Well, that was a surprise and a half! Shireen a Force sensitive! Very awesome plot twist there! I am sure interesting things will begin to develop even further! I am excited and waiting in gleeful anticipation! Good to see Robb stepping out and being his own man, he is one of my fave Stark characters after Ned and Jon.

1. I want more.
2. Fantastic.
3. I never thought I'd see the day when someone finally gets Stannis to pull that massive stick out of his arse.

the supressing of emotions that the jedi practice was that not far beyond nox' time? they started this practice since the time they thought the sith were gone, basicly joda's life work. (one of the reason i dislike the little green rat)
