Yes, well I wouldn't mind the mob so much if they showed them as the villains on the show, and maybe a few of them having trouble getting out (but eventually do). And if they didn't make every cop and opposing lawyer evil/incompetent/insane. I thought there was hope for Chase, but now he's being bussed. I really liked Dante and the fact that Sonny's son was a cop, but then they made him abandon Rocco and Lulu, when he could just as well get help in Port Charles, even if he stayed at the Metro Court temporarily if he's afraid of hurting his family.
I also hate that they go around giving people advice, and that people go to them for advice. Like when Elizabeth wanted Cam to talk to Sonny about drinking, as if he holds the only true wisdom in PC.
I didn't like Sonny and Emily together lol. (though I always enjoyed Em and Michael scenes, they were cute), but you raise a good point.
All that said, the very fact that Kristina, a lifelong Jasam cheerleader, Sonny worshipper, and oh my mom is so controlling, finally sees how toxic Jasam are together and that his priority is Sonny and Carly, pigs must be flying over a blue moon. Hopefully it goes somewhere.

That was really well done Chrissy. Thank you for sharing in written form here. You already know that I like the mob aspect but I find myself agreeing with everything you wrote. Joss, Scout and Danny should be afraid. Although I guess we are supposed to believe as a teen Joss has been through this before.
I personally think a large part of the problem is that Sonny, Carly and Jason have been given a great self-entitlement over the years and basically can do no wrong even if it is horribly wrong. Kind of you do as I say and I'll do what I want. While it is a lesser degree, I think at alternating times Sam has fit that status as well. I say lesser because Sam has also had moments where she will say or do something that is really judgmental or hypocritical (as do all soap characters and real life people) but she would come back and say that she was sorry and given what her life had been she had no room to judge. For a period of time it seems like all Sam and Elizabeth did was apologize for their opinions and thoughts saying they had no right to say what they did and I'm think no you had perfect right but it was cool that you apologized in your respective conversations.
Sonny, Carly and to a degree Jason- don't apologize and if they do it is rarely with real meaning. They chastise people for doing the same thing they may have done 5 months earlier.
You are right with the Q/Sonny dynamic. The Q's pushed Jason hard and he ran fast and Sonny took Jason in and groomed him to be the perfect enforcer and yes man, who forgave him for a lot. The only time I can recall that Jason has defied Sonny that isn't directly related to pulling Carly's behind out of trouble is when Emily and Sonny were an item and Jason was snorting fire and brimstone (despite the fact that he married the blonde floozie who Sonny said stay away from) and when he defied Sonny and went to Taggart and Edward for help finding Elizabeth when she was locked in the crypt. Jason would have rather shot himself than go to either of those people. Sonny started babbling about how he can't trust Jason. Jason hunkered down and became a real yes man after. So yeah, I can see how Sonny can be equated to a cult leader akin to Shilo reeling in Oscar when he disagreed with Drew and Kim.
Nice post Chrissy.

I was so proud of Kristina yesterday. It looked like it was starting to sink in with Sam, but then today Sam went on about how she understands and accepts Jason's friendship with Carson, blah blah. And Alexis and Molly were defending Sam. Alexis did a complete 180 from a couple weeks ago. I just did a big mob/cult rant on a youtube clip, thought I'd share:
Okay, my opinion about the mob being a cult still stands. Alexis was against Sam sneaking around with Jason just a couple weeks ago until Sam yelled at her. Now she's on her side about it? Hello, everyone is brainwashed/mind controlled. I think this is real reason why Alexis drinks because right is wrong and wrong is right. You can't disagree with anything the mob/cult believes or else you're crazy/evil/incompetent and when it comes down to choosing Carson and the mob or people you love, you choose Carson and the mob. If you disagree you become road kill. Kristina is finally seeing clearly about how toxic the Jasam relationship is and you could tell that it was sinking in with Sam, then she immediately went back to being a mind control robot who can't think for herself. They have you believing that the only safe place to be is in Carson's orbit and they hold the only true wisdom in Port Charles. The women are obsessed and mesmerized with Sonny and Jason. They sacrifice their children/hand them over to the mob. Even Robin left Emma countless times just to help Jason. The way they talk about "the family" is almost sickening. And Carson continue to have more and more children, and keep them from their other parents, and are always justified for it. Yet Alexis and Elizabeth were terrible parents for protecting them from the mob. Now Carson are on the verge of adopting Dev too, and who knows how many more young people they want to drag in. Josslyn should have been scared to death to go back to Sonny's house after being in the middle of a mob hit. Anyone in their right mind would have gone to Jax's instead. But none of them are in their right mind, they're brainwashed. Just look how Jason is a slave to Carson. (Sonny totally took advantage of him after he got brain damage and he used him when he was so upset by the Qs... hello, cult leaders take advantage of vulnerable people) And Sam accepts that? Yet she doesn't care about how that would affect her children. They have you thinking it's normal to raise kids around violence and Danny and Scout were just suddenly okay with bodyguards following them around. I'm so sick of the mob and wish someone would expose it for what it really is: a cult.

Julian handing out cash to all his grandkids is cute. If I were Alexis I would be annoyed too, though. It is going to take a long time for Scout to feel safe again. I'm liking Danny and Willow's new relationship, particularly is their mutual relief of no new sibling and I get their reasons, but, umm, wonder if they know vasectomies can be reversed (probably not by any doc on the island though) and sometimes, they fail. That sibling could still sneak in there somewhere in the mid future.
Hmm, okay so it sounds like even I who runs hot and cold with Kristina may have cheered her on in that Davis Girls dust up. I retract calling her a twit for now. Since I don't watch as often as both of you, I am still trying to find Sam's POV in all this. She went from a reasonably strong woman back to the desperate and clingy Sam. I don't the reasoning for the storyline. But you are right Christina Jasam and I can put Liason there too, have been apart more than together and Jason has put neither woman first. Trying to think if he put Courtney first but haven't a clue because I still don't generally acknowledge her existence. He was a different Jason with Robin before Carly so maybe he put her first at some point.

Julian's continued insistence on giving all of his grandchildren one-hundred-dollars each cracks me up. Hey, if Willow/Danny/Scout/Jonah/Lexie/Baby Kristina&Chase/Baby Tolly #2 pool their money, they can easily afford to infiltrate V-Town, rescue Charlotte and the other children, and any other imprisoned people.
Danny and Willow are mutually relieved that Sam isn't pregnant. Hah!
Oh, I feel so bad for Scout and her newfound fear of water and worry that the Almighty V will take her if Sam leaves her side :(

Kristina was the best part of the show today and it wasn't even close. I love that she stuck to her guns even as Alexis/Molly were trying to tell her she was wrong. Sam had the bitch-face the minute Kristina got going and I don't know why. Don't look offended when someone tells you the truth about your barely-a-relationship, relationship, sweetie. Sam will never, ever be Jason's priority, and I think that deep, deep down, she knows it.

Not sure if my orig post went through so if you get a double, I apologize and will make this quick. Loved the chapter. Oh, yeah I would snatch up the cash, although, I do like daisies, so I would have like the flowers too. Danny should take the deal his parents are offering and run with it.
Ugh, Franco. Could I hope for his face to run into Jason's fist again? Dare I ask what his malfunction is now that he would say that to Elizabeth?
Davis girls ohh, I'll try not to rant. Molly should tell the truth, Sam you spoke your piece now back off before you come across as a judgmental hypocrite. Kristina, good point about Sam trying to go around the terms of her parole, but yeah you are still a twit, take a seat. Back to Sam. Sweetie, you are no victim. Nobody told you to infiltrate a cult to save your twit of a sister. She is an adult, let Sonny and Alexis deal with her. Woman up, put on your big girl panties and abide by the parole terms.
Christina- agreed you have a valid point that Lulu did not go looking for Valentin but rather got stuck with him. But, I think that Chrissy's comparison while maybe not the same still on a level valid too. My point really had nothing to do with kids/custody, only that the similarity for me is the people who are supposed to be on your side aren't.

Kristina and Molly are pregnant at the same time, that will be - interesting. Lol. All the Davis girls married good men that are or will be good fathers, so it's all good on that front.
My favorite parts of the chapter were Julian giving Willow and Danny one hundred dollars each to one-up Alexis and her daisies (and I'm with Julian, I would totally take the money over the flowers, haha) and Danny/Willow thinking that Sam was pregnant and making her sit down and relax. Hee! Aww to Drew getting a vasectomy which means no more Dream babies, lol.
Diane and Piph are pregnant too? T.J's the only doctor on that island - Patrick, too, even though he is a neurosurgeon, and Kevin is a shrink - he needs to get to work on creating some birth control! :-)

Christina, that is a valid point. But I still think Alexis has very good reasons to want to protect her daughters from the mob life and shouldn't have been portrayed as controlling as a result. And I don't think she realized the extent of the mob life until her sister died in the explosion (although that was before I watched, I just went back and watched some clips). But yes, those you listed did make a choice to sleep with them in the first place.
Chrissyfan, you would have been mad at Franco today. He told Elizabeth that she isn't a real artist and doesn't understand what he's talking about. She wasn't pleased.
And I was surprised by the Davis girls scenes. Now don't get me wrong, fighting isn't good, but I almost saw a glimmer of hope for them lol. Molly is feeling guilty and Sam said she should tell TJ, Kristina disagreed. Molly yelled at Sam for going to Brando behind her back, saying she's an adult (I felt like this was karma for all the times Sam yelled at Alexis for going to Jason behind her back). Then when Alexis arrived, she wondered why they were fighting. Molly confessed to her that she slept with Brando. Sam and Kristina were arguing and Kristina brought up that she's risking her parole by sneaking around with Jason, thus risking her family (a while ago I was hoping it would be Molly to give Sam the tough love, I was surprised it was Krissy!). Then Sam said she wouldn't even be on parole if it wasn't for Kristina. I thought that was kind of low of Sam, considering it wasn't her job to save her from D.O.D. So, my point is, I thought it was good that Molly is feeling guilty and told Alexis (they almost always keep things from her), so I saw hope for her that she'll confess to TJ. Sam I saw some hope, that she had enough wisdom left in her to tell Molly to tell the truth. And Kristina I saw hope that she was able to point out to Sam that she's risking her family considering Krissy's been a Jasam cheerleader since she was like five lol. And bonus, no one was yelling at Alexis for a change! Though it probably continues tomorrow, so that could change. Also, Julian and Neil were fighting over Alexis again, so yeah I didn't mind it today. Hopefully the Davis sisters will all learn something for a change.

Chrissyfan and Jrchandlerfan - The key difference, though, between Lulu/Charlotte/Valentin and Alexis/Kristina/Sonny and Ava/Avery/Sonny (or any other example) is that Alexis, Ava, Michael, etc. made their own choices to sleep with these violent people whom they now want to keep their children away from. Lulu never had such a choice. Valentin knowingly took every single choice of Lulu's away from her and Lulu never met Valentin until she saw him on Cassadine Island, when, again, he tried to murder half of her family!

I like this topic.
I can see Nina pushing Lulu, she is on the Valentin train until he does something to her personally. I also think that she sees Charlotte as a way to make up for the time she lost with her own child. So she is going to hang on for all its worth. Laura is kind of in the middle I guess, she just wants what is best for Lulu and Charlotte but again I thought new age Laura had a better BS meter. Maxie however, is supposed to be Lulu's BFF and have her back. She doesn't need to be a yes woman and not tell Lulu how she feels but in the end she should be on Lulu's side. Nik was always the brother who most often had Lulu's back, maybe they will get that sibling relationship back with nuNik.
Chrissy you are right. This does feel akin to Sonny/Kristina/Alexis also a bit Sonny/Avery/Ava. I agree that Alexis's drinking goes deeper than it looks and I would dare say Sonny and Ric's use and abuse of her plays a huge part.
I think Elizabeth and Lucky are a bit akin to this (not in terms of children although Lucky did try for full custody of Cam and Jake to punish her) but in terms of people telling her that she had to stand by Lucky even when her heart and head was screaming otherwise. When he was brainwashed Luke/Laura badgered her to stay with him (her love could cure all), her best friend Emily badgered her to stay (Lucky put Liz back together after her rape and she owes him, pfft), her grand mother pushed, Nik pushed for a while too. All while we had the chorus singing stay away from Jason. Hmmm, fast forward to Lucky on drugs. Same people, minus Laura and add Lulu, same mantra, same chorus. I equate Emily to Maxie, being Lucky's oldest friend should not have prevented her from being Elizabeth's best friend and Em should have had Liz's back, she did eventually but for a long time she rode the Lucky train. Ha, I did all that without going off on the complete Lucky rant that was swirling in my head.
Seriously, though Sam, Liz, Alexis and to a degree Lulu have all been through horrific challenges (Liz and Sam were sexually assaulted and Alexis watched her mother killed by Helena, while trying to protect her little sister and Lulu had Luke for most of her formative years- enough said on that) and abandonment which if done properly on GH for anyone or all of them could be a ratings gold mine or one big therapy session or Girls night out which GH hasn't done in a while, I don't think.

Thanks guys! Hehe yes I loved Willow calling Sam mom, and of course Scout waking up :)
Christina, the way you described Lulu/Charlotte/Valentin almost sounded like Alexis/Kristina/Sonny to a T. Only difference is Kristina was older by the time she worshipped Sonny and despised Alexis. But Alexis had very legitimate reasons too for wanting to protect Kristina, all her daughters really, from the mob. But everyone kept saying how there’s still dangers in the world and the mob is the safest place to be, Rme... honestly, I believe the real reason she started drinking is much deeper than what they want us to believe.

Aw, I loved this chapter. Not only did Scout heal and wake up, but Danny and Willow healed their sibling fighting and I think all of this brought them closer, and of course Willow coming back and calling Sam "Mom." *heart emoji*
And I really appreciated the little detail that Willow was thoughtful enough to give the family one less thing to worry about by taking Franklin the puppy to Jax and Joss' for now.
Chrissyfan - Everyone (Maxie, Nina, Laura, etc.) is admonishing Lulu all the time to co-exist and co-parent with Valentin, make things right for Charlotte's sake which means keep the peace with Valentin, and no one seems to consider the legitimately valid points that not only might Lulu think Valentin isn't safe for Charlotte, but Lulu HERSELF might not feel safe around Valentin considering that he's tried to murder half of her family...

Really good chapter, Chrissy. I loved the way Sam handled Danny and Willow and nice that Willow came back and called Sam mom. They may have a ways to go but that took them leaps and bounds. Aww, yay! Scout is away.
Christina re: soapbox: Absolutely, I'll share the soapbox any time. I haven't used it so much lately but poor Chrissy and Foxy have had to endure some pretty huge rants from me.
Lulu is a character that has had me run hot and cold, for a very long time I wanted to reach through my tv and squeeze the life out of her. But, she has mellow and matured and doesn't deserve the schmuck who stole her embryo holding it over her head that he could walk with her child if wanted let alone alienate Charlotte from Lulu. Yup! Free Lulu.

They never actually gave a reason why, but my best guess is that we were supposed to think that Lulu had come on too strong with Charlotte and frightened her and Charlotte needed time to adjust or some such thing. Of course, Valentin made it a point to pick Charlotte up from Lulu's personally and before the hour was up and naturally Charlotte wanted to go with him.
