Ok, I have tried but I think I am done with this now.
Overall, the plot is decent and some ideas for what happens can be interesting. But I have found that the way the story trips into completely nonsensical situations repeatedly without so much as a by your leave to be very offputting. Ive reached the point where I begin to skim nonsense plot points for 5 chapters straight now.
I dont mean to be mean about it, as clearly there were aspects of the story that kept me around this long. But I am heading out before this becomes an exercise in me just raining on a parade.

Yeah, sorry. Writing Harry to be sexually involved with Dudley is a no go for me. I was forewarned about weirdness, but I cant stand this. I will be skipping ahead to something that is less in the abuse/stockholm area. There is writing a character who is exploring their sexuality through magic, and there is writing a character who is a doormat for abuse while pretending they are somehow a protector.
I dont even understand why the fuck Harry was even with Tonks on her protection detail - That would be like a secret service member bringing a child on a protection detail in real life. Its fucking mental. A LOT in this chapter has been insanity.

Im not even going to sugarcoat it, Richard is a terrible, awful name for a lion and the author should legitimately go back and change it. What the fuck. Hell, its an enormous fucking missed opportunity to call him Thundercat.

Im getting the feeling more and more often in reading this that there is way too much psychoanalyzing going on. At least for me. Almost every conversation reads like an effort to educate or communicate a concept to the reader. And while the story may have an intent to have a lot of ideas in it from the very beginning, parsing everything is tiring - its almost like studying and learning things written in this context almost constantly. I am hitting my threshold for give a damn much more rapidly than the plot or writing would warrant simply because of the effort involved in being an active reader.

I have to say this chapter is worse than usual at using teenagers as mouthpieces for over-expounding adult talking points in the wordiest ways. There is an art to keeping things concise, and I plead with the author to practice it in the future.

The changes in a lot of the characters backgrounds and general demeanor comes off as very weird and strange. Its not bad, per se, but seeing a less caricaturized or dramatic version of all the characters without lead in from 3rd year on is quite the system shock. Ive gotten used to different takes on people since Ive started in on fan fics, but the lack of lead-in to the changes and the abruptness of them is startling.

Want to like this but the characters have basically zero emotions throughout the dialouge. I'm trying to imagine it different in my head but every conversation has everybody talk in the blandist tone possible with stone-like faces that essentially don't move at all. I'm still going to continue reading though so hopefully it gets better.
