for Season 10-1 - Mr Monk and the Avenging Angel

Oh my goodness. I just finished this after reading all of season 9. Incredible. I wish it was canon and can’t wait for episode two!

Natalie and Monk in bed with the kiddos was super-cute and adorable. Ha! Little Lee Lee smoothing out the wrinkles in the bedsheets...there's no denying who's son he is! And Abby is just her mother's clone, isn't she? I did notice in this chapter and the last that Lee Lee might have a little bit of separation anxiety going on with Monk - poor kid :(

As for the mystery for Story 2...I already have a thought of what might have happened and who might have done it. Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I usually am ;)

I can't wait to read it! The Monk fandom is going to be overflowing with stories this year!

What a way to start season 10, and just like its name, I am giving you 10 standing ovations. Lol. I can't wait to see what "episode 10.2" will bring. The name is very intriguing and I know you will bring all of your creativity to the it.

This was wonderful, so much good stuff in this last chapter. I especially loved the family interaction all the way through. The twins are quickly learning and imitating the special love they see their parents demonstrate. Great lead-in to the next story in the series, too. I can't wait for 10-2 and your other upcoming stories in the other universes!

Ha. Whatever Leland is getting paid these days it's not enough. He is constantly having to rescue Monk from his own worst instincts, but I loved his line about how they are going to find him and make sure he's safe, then they'll kill him. Sounds about right ;)

And of course Monk would solve a potential baby-napping on his trip outside. But awwww, I love the music box with the swans that he bought her, and now I understand why you linked me to that scene from The Notebook that you wanted me to watch.

Side note: Leland doing his best not to react to Monk and Natalie being lovey-dovey as they were leaving the hospital was funny and it made me laugh that Leland has car seats for the Monk twins in his car. Lol.

I just can't express how much I loved that chapter! It had me grinning like a fool. I was thinking back on this story and your others, and I have to say that somehow you managed to write the most intriguing, most terrifying, most romantic and funniest of all your stories, somehow rolling all of those emotions into one crazy ride, but what a ride it was. I wasn't sure where you were going with it at the beginning, but now I'm a little sad to see it end. As I see your writing get better and better, however, I can't wait for what you will offer next, and again, thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.

Now That's Better. Monk Is Back. I Just Don't Think He Or You Needs A Gimmick In Order To Bring Out The Romantic In Adrian. You've Mastered The Ability To Straddle The Line Between Keeping This Guy Fundamentally Who He Is While Showcasing His Love For Natalie, Case & Point Right Now. What He Did Was Great! I Love It. Monk Made Me Laugh Throughout The Chatter. Great Job!

What great security this hospital has that Monk was able to leave his room and leave the hospital without attracting attention to himself and apparently no one knew about it until almost three hours later.

Jake patiently teaching Monk the basics of social media and how he could interact with Natalie was cute to watch/read, and I hope that once everything is over and he and his fiancee get married, that Monk, Natalie, and the kiddos will be invited. That would be cute and a way for Monk to branch out and make a new friend. (It cracked me up that one of Monk's nurses asked to be reassigned because she couldn't deal with Monk anymore. Yeah, that sounds like Monk.)

Favorite line: "Her wall? I can't go home and put something on her wall. I have to stay here." I legit choked on the water I was drinking :)

Monk/Natalie's conversations reminded me a lot of "You've Got Mail," and it made me laugh that Monk called Tom Hanks "Thomas Hanks." A big "aww" to Monk watching all of Natalie's favorite movies so he can discuss them with her (when this is all over and they get to go home together, Natalie for sure needs to watch that quartz rock documentary with him) and there is something to the notion that you can talk more openly and honestly to someone when they are online rather than face-to-face in front of you.

I haven't watched The Notebook so I'm not sure what it was exactly that set Monk off other than homesickness and wanting to see Natalie, but I am assuming that is where he went :)

Oh! Before I forget, because I clicked send on my last review before I had said everything I wanted to say - just wait until Randy finds out that Monk is (slowly) engaging with social media and flirting with Natalie online. You KNOW he will have something to say!

I Love You But This Waaay Too Hallmark For Me And Waaay Out Of Character For Monk. This Is A Guy Who Answers The Phone " Hello It's Me Adrian Monk" Regardless Who It Is And Now He's "Aege" And Playin This Little Cutesy Game On Social Media? No. A Zoom Call Would've Been Fantastic. Love The Chats Themselves, The Rest Made No Sense In This Universe, With This Character, I'd Buy Him Gettin On...What He Joined Because He's Progressed And Because Nat Likes It, I Just Don't Buy That Monk Would Do What He Did In His Interactions With Natalie.

Oh Adrian, what have you gotten yourself into now? Other than my concern over our favorite detective at the end, I found myself happily smiling throughout this chapter. I really like Jake, and I like what he did for him. Monk on Facebook was absolutely adorable and funny, at times. I also enjoyed the discussions over the movies and their favorite childhood books, as those are some of my favorites as well. I hope when Natalie finds Adrian, they will just let him go home. Those two have been through enough. They deserve some time together before the baby comes.

I love it when Leland is in big brother/papa bear mode and I especially loved the opening scene and how it was Leland that was ultimately the one to get Monk to calm down again - by using his ultimate-authority police voice and calling for Detective Monk (something no doubt he did multiple times over the years on the force) and by reminding Monk of the garbage strike and the clean room. Garbage Strike is one of my all-time fave episodes and I liked the callback :)

Nice touch bringing Randy's simmering issues with Monk to the surface when the friends found out the sex of the baby, and the little detail that Leland had visited Monk multiple times and Randy hadn't until now.

I knew Baby Monk had to be a boy for harmony's sake, to keep it all even, though it cracked me up that Monk was all nonchalant about having to keep going to get it even again if it had been twins, or a girl. Natalie's "uh, I don't think so" was perfect! And it is *so* Monk to insist that the baby's boy parts be covered up. LOL. Though the post-it note in that particular spot would just draw more attention to it. Just sayin' ;)

Aw...Just when I don't think you can get any more "emotional", you bring out Monk's letter to Natalie. Loved that disinfectant has no more appeal to him. lol I also loved the reveal of the sex of their child. Only Monk would want his parts covered. LOL! Can't wait till he is out of isolation and back in his wife's arms and tracking down the bad guys. hehe.

Oh My Word! How Beautiful Is That!? There Aren't Words To Express How Much I Love This. I'm Smiling Like An Idiot Right Now.

You got me wiping tears again! I teared up first from the Valentine's Day surprise: another boy! I let out a little whoop. I was hoping for a boy, gotta keep things even after all. Then, from that poignant letter. The Covid situation breaks my heart for the characters, but I know it is very real for so many people right now. I am blessed to be spending quarantine with my husband and children, but many are isolated from loved ones. Nice job working that reality into your story. On a personal note, I like that Adrian kept the beard. ;)
