Eh i just realised that i actually hate main character of this story? I guess i was being deceived by my compassion for her childhood.

Your worldbuilding is always so fascinating and in-depth. Makes it feel like a real place, which is something regular HP completely fails at.

I do like how you made Snape a competent psychometrist. Does your Snape have formal training?

Poor Liz, such a terrible prospect, doing good in something... (*shivers*)
I was a bit surprised about how Liz went about the mind-magic susceptibility thing, too, but I thought a simple compulsion would perhaps not work because of dragon's resistivity to magic and thought Liz knew that and that was why she went "for the kill". Seems it was actually an "oops" on her side :)
Aaand I am confused about that bit when she returned back to the starting point with Flitwick. Were the emotions something she herself actually felt over her encounter with the dragon or was it emotions from people around her? And that bit in parentheses, about her being beautiful... that was her thought about the dragon?
I guess I will be confusedly ruminating over it while I wait for next chapter. I love this story so far, even though I have absolutely no idea how you can produce something this long (do keep going :) ). I love it, though!

FINALLY! Finally Dorea got to the root of the problem and recognized the issue. Jesus, that took AGES. And of course, it was (kind of) Hermione who turned on the bulb above her head, which I only like her more for.
Of course, Dorea marching straight up to Liz before Liz even had time to settle was not the smartest idea she ever had, but the outcome would have been the same anyway. Even if Liz gets persuaded to give Dorea another chance, it will take some time. And even so, were I Dorea, I would give it time before I even tried to approach Liz directly, I would let her feel and sense hints about what changed for me and any change of my feelings way before I tried talking to her. Not to mention, Dorea may be bloody sorry, but that means nothing if she cannot stop feeling like Liz is a threat. And I am not sure that changed (or if it will, because it would have to change while Dorea is faced with distrust from Liz, which would make her seem a wild card to Dorea... yeah, she's having the time of her life).
Side note: I wonder how Hermione feels about the the hint than Liz maybe might be thinking of adopting her (and I hope I am not mistaken in her and that she realizes that Liz would not be so manipulative as to give her an ancestry potion for her own ends, to see how it would pan out with adoption). But I really hope Liz will deign to at least speak to Hermione about the possibility, and see if Hermione herself might be okay with it, it feels to me like that conversation needs to happen soonish.
A typo in the part about Liz fixing things in the bluntest, most bull-heatedly straight-forwards way possible – it has "must" instead of "most". And that was a perfect characterization by the way – everything I could think of just validated it anew (Lavender stealing things? Hexing shock therapy. Getting into Gryffindor somehow and see about the rat? Barge in, mind-magic all Gryffindors in sight and stun the rat itself.) :D
Loved this chapter, feels like it made a headway in untangling some knots.

God, that Seer stuff really sucks, sometimes... finally she finds something that works to help her in social setting, only to realize it just opens the seer highway even more. That dance was !confusing!

Is that kind of compulsion not against the dueling rules? Because if Liz really can do that to as much as three people at once, their chances of victory in trios just rose significantly... and if Liz' chances of winning in singles were high before, now they are basically a given.
This chapter was quite hard to keep track of – when I got to the end I didn't even remember all that happened, there was so many scenes included here :) That's actually also the reason (as I belatedly realized) why the Yule Ball chapters were such a quick, straightforward read. Only one scene overall versus several scenes, including another go at political status explanation thing – my poor Christmas egg nog infused brain has some difficulties keeping track of it all. At least there wasn't an actual duel step-by-step shown here, that would probably end me for today.

Okay, so: Next time Severus wants an explanation from Liz, he only needs to get her high on cannabis.
