Just In
for Fever Dreams

Ah. The suspense is killing me. She has it, doesnt she? I love the connection and intimacy between thse two in this chapter. So many layers, not just sexual. Her feeling so terrified and confiding in him. He reassuring her in the just the way she needs. Their embrace at the end spoke volumes, but still leaves me with so many questions. On another note, as me and those around me are having to test because of potential covid exposures, I felt Anne's fears and need to know particularly acutely. This story is everything right now. Perfectly describes our fears of the unknown, fear for our loved ones, and yet it is told through the prism of characters so beloved and familiar, its brings so much comfort to read and live these times with them. Love it. Thank you.

How do you make everything so sensual? ? Amazing.

This was one of the most sensual things I’ve ever read. The writing is simply extraordinary. Every sentence, every word is precious and there for a reason.

Now sweety you're dragging it a bit aren't you? It's time for the lovers to awaken together. Thanks for sharing. Stay well!

Absolutely stunning, this chapter is- humour and horror and such absolute love, unrequited as it might appear to be. I always feel like I need a good cry after one of Fever Dreams’ chapters, and this is no exception- too bad I need to go back to work! Loved the reflecting on Anne, (and of course the steaminess of the future Dr B’s examination!) and I was especially struck by Mercy seeing herself in Anne! Love it, Kwak.

This story is the greatest! I love the chapter title haha so funny! Christine is the reason Gil got sick? I never imagined it, butI understand why she would want to see him all wet though. I wonder what is going to happen now that Gil and Anne are in the same room recovering together

It’s you who is testing us! My god, John Blythe is a national treasure if I ever saw one (grandpa Blythe doesn’t sound too much fun though). What a man! You outdid yourself yet again with that beginning, I have no idea what could possibly top THAT but I will surely stand corrected after your next chapter is posted. Learning about the cause of the typhoid was really interesting. By the way, is Christine still at Marilla’s? I’m sure she and Rachel are examples of hospitality but even that has its limits, lol. Now, getting back to our poor invalids: the fact that Gil is adamant about not “trying again” is brilliant in its simplicity. OF COURSE he is not running back to her (well, he can’t) and begging for another chance. Just because Roy has been refused does not mean Anne has suddenly fallen in love with him. Oh and by the way, I love Gil’s quick thinking about the wetting the bed thing, he is clearly on the mend! Now I will let the image of John and his “stamina and extra strength” keep me company till the next instalment.

This chapter was sheer perfection, Kwak.
I love how you fill in the blanks and answer burning questions such as why A and G’s families didn’t attend Convocation. God, I wish I had your talent and imagination.

I’m not gonna lie, though. It’s getting tough to read this because my whole life seems to be revolving around Covid and it’s bad here, really bad and I’m scared. I’m angry too, because it didn’t have to be this way and now it’s young people who are getting it and some are even dying.

A few months before the pandemic I finally got to see the musical Hamilton for which I am so thankful as it cheers me to listen to the soundtrack. I’m looking forward to the Disney broadcast of the original Broadway show next week and I plan to watch it as many times as I’m able. I highly recommend it as a diversion.

Thank you Kwak, for your creative contributions during this very difficult time in the world.

The image of Christine crossing her silk stockinged legs while reading that powerful passage about love while gilbert flashes back to a young Anne with the paper rose in her hair really stays with me. I like how Anne being there in his home is exasperating his heartbreak over her instead of making it better because they can't communicate because first he was sick how she is! Love that anne was staring at him with the same intensity that he was earlier in the story. Gilbert will never be able to be 'just friends' with Anne , we all know it. :]》

The morning horn. You really have a way with a phrase! This story continues to kill me. John referring to Anne as Gilbert's girl, Gilbert choosing being a doctor over his devoted, all encompassing love for Anne. The UST was especially crackling in this chapter, between the way Gilbert was looking at Anne at the end there and the story of Christine's escalating dares which were all tied up with her lust for Gilbert.

Oh Gilbert.. he and Anne are going to have some trouble if they both believe the other just wants to be friends XD I am very much looking forward to the invalids talking when everyone is awake and lucid lol and I hope Anne isn’t immediately sent back to Green Gables!

Who would have thought caring for someone who's terribly sick and feverish could be so erotic. Katherine I have loved all your stories. This one is definitely up there with your Untie the Knott.

I'll tell you who's the best, kwaky. YOU! OMFG, this chapter was superb. How do I love your John Blythe? Let me count the ways. I love him with Emma, I love him with Gilbert, and most especially his little memory of helping his younger brother. What a man! His mornng clarion call and sassy whistle as he tucks himself into his overalls was a lovely, lovely picture that made me smile like a fool. Now if that doesn't beat all your other chapter openings put together, then I don't know what would. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I'm loving that Gilbert's getting better now, mayhaps that thermodynamic moment with Anne has helped him more than I knew? I love how you explained exactly how Gilbert managed to get sick - I wonder if Christine realises that's the reason too? And I loved her reading about love and laughing it off while Gilbert knows such a love that he is thinking of Anne while Christine shows off her German skills and crosses her silk-covered legs in front of him. I loved your description of Convocation from his perspective and that Chris dared him to ask Anne to dance. Argh! this is too good!

That picture of Anne as Venus reclining on the bed, and the many, many times Gilbert had imagined waking up next to her like that. So when he closed his eyes and told himself that it was enough they were friends again tugged extra hard on my poor heart. Friggin hell, I hope you're not going to make us wait too long for the next installment. I, for one, cannot wait.

Favourite line: pathetically grateful. Oof! That one hurt, kwaky.
Also: The dog begging at the table. John's version and Gilbert's both equally as interesting at showing us their particular world views. I love how you do that!

"Lord, you're testing me today, you really are." LOL.

So prideful this Gilbert is! So, he must have been so hurt by Anne's rejection. I find it so plausible that despite Gil being so practical and teasing, he actually is a super romantic and tender hearted.

It seems like this story has its own ways of getting to the canon bits we are so familiar with (Phil's letter, Gil's flowers). So, I am looking forward to seeing how Gil gets to realize "there is no one for him but Anne." Hoping she doesn't get worse, but wondering if he'll have to come to his own book of Revelations. So much to wonder about and I'm enjoying the ride.
