Hm. So Yandere Emerald kidnapped Ruby two years after the fall of Beacon... except that didn't happen, Ruby managed to avoid it and killed Cinder herself, probably.
That means that "Here Lies Her Reality" isn't about what really happened in "Hello! My name is Ruby Rose!', but another layer of the illusions she's trapped in. I've always suspected this because it's written in the same style as the parent story and you're obviously able to write more coherently, for lack of a better word, but it's good to have it confirmed. This along with "hey", which makes it clear that Ruby can still move, so she wasn't really mauled by Grimm. I guess making her think that it happened serves to keep her where Emerald wants her — with her.
I'm not sure if that makes the story less horrifying or more, though.
