Of course Dumbles would have been there instantly to threaten them into obedience and maybe screw with their memories. Like most wizards he thinks muggles are there to do as they are told and the Ministry only cares if you screw it up and force them to get off their butts to fix it.
Yeah, Minerva always let the child abusing duo of Dumbledore and Snape do whatever they wanted to the non Slytherins, her name should be McUseless. Unless she was in on the Harry the martyr plan?

Blackmail, huh? Fair enough, I like reviews on my stories and yet no one sends any in.
Your doing great, this fanfiction is really nice, I can't wait to read more.
The letter Harry sent back to McGonagall doesn't make sense, I think you meant due not do. Mistakes are common in first stories, I made thousands, and I'm only on chapter 3, lol.
Maybe you would benefit from a beta? I don't have one yet, and I am sadly not 'qualified' on fanfiction to be a beta, but if you need help, I will gladly be there.
Personally, I would like to see Harry as either a Gryffindor again, or Slytherin or Ravenclaw. I don't have anything against Hufflepuffs I just can't see Harry being one,
A smart Harry would be awesome. Maybe a friendship with Draco? Or relationship,

Nice start
I just hope you don't suddenly make the Slytherins the nicest people ever as that/s been done so many times it's become cliched.
Harry in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff would be a nice change.
I've always thought Granger was a Dumbledore plant, how else does a supposedly muggle born be an all knowing font of information about the magical world from day one.
