You've depicted Ron in the worst possible light here but I still think he has a point; Hermione should have discussed this with him first.
The comments are rather amusing. I can't help imagining what would happen if you wrote this story in reverse, if Ron came into some money and decided to move to Hogsmeade to open a quidditch shop without consulting Hermione and she was upset about it. I'd be willing to bet a substantial sum that those calling Ron selfish would still be down on him, even though he'd be doing exactly the same as Hermione in this story. One rule for men and another for women perhaps? Or perhaps in the eyes of some people Ron can never be right!
