I think it was a very good chapter. I'm glad all the threads were stitched together nicely. The politics going on are always exciting to read!

Almost 10 years subduing a city, pulling your house back from collapse, succeeded in both, told off another great house, decimated slavers bay, secured trade to China, now coming back to Westeros, and staring down a divided realm still trying to bankrupt your house.
-This is where the fun begins-
Corlys Velaryon (maybe)

This deserves so much more attention. It’s great just read it all in one go. Can’t wait for the next chapter

the Lord of High Tide are back in his ancenstral home! Its good to see your story so far. I hope you'll able to post regularly like this next week. And for the system of nobles that Corlys try to implement was quite good. It has it flaws, but still understand able with the current culture of the region and the world as a whole

It is a tragedy to see what happened to Driftmark, that region has borne the brunt of the sacrifices House Velaryon made for Tyrosh. To the point where Houses Bar Emmon, Sunglass and Wendwater were lured by the Targaryens. However there is hope with Corlys' plan of using Driftmark as an entrepot between the Velaryon fiefs on Westeros and the Velaryon State on Essos. Though right now they have a family reunion with the Targaryens to tend to.

I think I forgot to say last chapter, that was a smart move, not conquering Slaver's Bay. The culture is too different and stubbornly backwards.
Meanwhile they can easily control small islands and it's less terrritory to guard.

Ah yes, Lord of the Tides & the Dragon Princess: Homecoming. Let's see if the Old King plans to patch relationships or completely lose a daughter in the emotional sense.
And Lucerys lived. Expected, but still good to see a survivor. He serves as one of the many living justifications against the slaver cities, lest they decide to "oh my our cities were burned by dragons, what a tragedy" after they rebuild. Utterly disgusting propoganda.

That was amazing. Corlys and viserra just did what Daenerys had done in a much better fashion.
Gods, I can't wait to see the reaction of House Targeryen on these great developments...

Love the work , but the I've got to say the idea decision to not give the house velaryon paramountcy the stepstones is pritty dumb of king Viserys.
Especially considering how all the other great houses became lords paramounts.
Every other house (at this point in time in the story ) became lord paramounts by basicly bending there knee's with the exception of house baratheon, who was given it after commanding aegons army when conquering the stormlands, and house tully (sort of) by being first in rising up in rebellion against house hoare for house targaryen and being given the Paramountcy of the riverlands.
While house velaryon (including Princess Vissera who's a velaryon when the stepstones are conquired) essentially used their own money, men and influence to pritty much conquer the stepstones in its enterity, while costing house targaryen relatively very little, all while being fully willing to incorporate it into the power structure of the seven kingdoms underneath the targaryen banner.
Sure there are certainly some other factors involved but who sounds like they deserve to be more of a lord paramount, the houses who merely kneels to you and pays you lip service, or your vassal house who has been loyal to your house for centuries using their own time and resources to go out of their way to conquer a new land to incorporate into and strengthen your kingdom.
I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up as a point in a argument. In my opinion House Velaryon has done more to earn a lord paramountcy then all the other great houses combined.

Awesome chapter! Can't wait to see more! Especially their triumph return to Westeros. I really would love to see a scene of Jaeharys and Viserra again. Though this time, it will be a strong woman that conquered everything thrown at her and only came back stronger instead of the young girl she was when her father first betrayed her...It would be a very interesting conversation...

I’m not going to say it, cause ive said it too many times before, but I love the expansion the Velaryons are taking. With all the new territory, he really should consolidate and grow his lands; cause I spy some arrogant and greedy dragons over the narrow sea there…
