I'm sorry it's taken me a while to read this. I cite the same reasons you did for not posting in a while! I loved it! It's so nice to see Obi-Wan finding himself again, and it makes sense that Qui-Gon is part of that. You did a really good job of explaining how Rey is special to Obi-Wan and Sabé without making it seem like Luke is less special. The little affectionate moments scattered throughout are lovely. I'm glad they're starting to be happy...for now!

I am glad for the update and A/N. I was starting to worry something terrible had happened to you. 2020 sure has been something else. As for the story: I loved Obi-Wan coming back to Sabé, that they’re getting there. Love all the feelings and the angsty bits. I look forward to the next chapter.

Aww this was a lovely chapter. It was so nice for them to have a respite after the arrival of the Empire. And it's great to see them getting closer again. I love that last paragraph, it's so beautiful :) And the house is becoming a home! Yay!

Poor Obi-Wan, I really feel for him. Nice dropping in of 'betrayed and murdered'! 'Obi-Wan is human first, and this is showing him unrelentingly how much so' - aggh that is such a great line!
San and Reina seem really nice. I hope they actually are! Pogo is a character! See, the Empire isn't so bad. They blocked out the suns and created shade for everyone :D Sabé's flight away from the shop was so tense. I really felt for her with the fear and the chaos around her. Thank the gods that Obi-Wan found her. Looking forward to seeing what happens next :)

Poor Obi-Wan, having to carry such an uncivilised weapon. Baby Luke is so adorable! There’s no way I’d send a child of mine to a school in Mos Eisley. I would never be sure that they’d still be there by the end of the day. The news broadcast was chilling. What a difficult way to learn about Vader, and in public too.
Loved the descriptions of the house. Definitely a fixer-upper! I really like Max as well. It’s funny to read someone being so cheerful about showing off a house with holes in the walls! And yay, the hug. That was long overdue, but feels like a stage of healing. Looking forward to hearing Obi-Wan’s thoughts on all this :)

Ugh. The first trimester of pregnancy is SO unbelievably exhausting. I thought it was bad going through it in a hot climate, and I don't live anywhere close to Tatooine! And caring for a newborn on top of it. And all their trauma! I hadn't even *thought* about the nightmares she must be having of the children. D:
But so very glad to see a ray of hope, Obi-Wan sensing her emotions, opening a little more as he talks about rebuilding the homestead. (His adventures in home building with Qui-Gon! I very much want to hear about this, too!) DIY Obi-Wan is gonna be HOT, and not in the climate way. ;)
So looking forward to the next and some Obi-Wan POV!

I have to keep telling myself that it will get better for them... because it seems so hopeless. Sometimes it’s the love for my children that really sees me through the difficult days. sabé is so strong. She is truly admirable.

This is such a good beginning, but wow, it's painful. I just want them to be happy *cries* But how could they be so early on? They both have so much healing to do. You really paint a wretched picture of Tatooine! (Which I mean in a good way. Your descriptions are always awesome!) It's comforting to think that they will eventually find their place in it :) Looking forward to reading more.

Oh my. They're so sad and broken and it wounds me. I mean. How could they be any other way, after what they've been through, and then coming HERE, of all places? I was struck by how different this is from how they were together on Naboo at the end of HoF. It really rings true for me, that there they were able to heal a little more, maybe because it was so early that they were still processing, but I think also because they still had a lot of connection to that place, and it's a naturally soothing places as well. Tatooine is the opposite. They're really out of their elements here, even right down to Obi-Wan not dressing like himself. With time, they'll be okay. I'm really looking forward to seeing their journey toward okayness.
