Sorry it's taken me so long to review. But this chapter is amazing! I like how Karai and Leonardo don't just fight but have actual conversations. Also his inner debates on how to deal with the different problems within his family. Shows he's trying to responsible in a lot of respects. You make this story so relatable.

I'm not too picky. Long or short, as long as the quality is good.
And Tigerclaw...I do wonder if his character is altered in this fic or if that was simply a sob story to capture the turtles and snag more power in an already formidable criminal organization? Was that intentional? If so, excellent foreshadowing.
Karai really is one of the most complex characters in this series. And she's also pretty cool/tough, too!

Ooooh, so close yet so far away!
I absolutely loved your Mikey and April's heart-to-heart. And extra props for addressing the fact that Mikey is a lot smarter than he seems (which is meant in the kindest way possible). It was definitely easy to spot the sibling dynamics in this chapter; Leo backing off when April looks riled in particular. So apparently her and Donnie's relationship is the elephant in the room in this family? The "it's about time" couple? ...Nice!

Hmmm...you have a knack for interweaving episodes. Now Leo has met the human girl of his dreams. The treacherous alliance between the Foot and Kraang has been established, and April is still raw from the recently disclosed events. Am looking forward to see how her recovery will manifest.

...Well that was a bittersweet turn.
On one hand, April was in a delicate state and Donnie should've been corrected that now was a bad time. On the other...did it have to be that explosive? He wasn't deliberately trying to water down what she was going through. And it's obvious he cares about her. Poor timing, yes. Overkill? Just a bit.
Gotta say, wasn't expecting it to come out like this. But obviously you know how to avoid cliche. Their family is in for a rough, uphill fight. They will all need to do some serious contemplating, even the adults. Already anticipating the next chapter.

Good on Leo for being the realist. It is terrible if tragedy befell April's dad, but the Kraang know no mercy and don't see others (or even each other) as vital, with few exceptions.
So! We've uncovered April's genetics, her sordid family history, and Splinter's demons which brought him to America and the Murakami family. They are all so kind. Perhaps an influence on your Splinter, possibly?

Alright, nice touch on blending the bond with the post-kidnap segment in the show. And the meeting-then-crashing after April escapes the Kraang and Donnie bolts for her the minute they spot each other? Adorable. Just adorable.
So the turtles may soon be on another search for another O'Neil. Am anxious to see what will happen next!

Most thrilling chapter yet! Yes, this was quite good. Easy enough for the reader to picture it as it moves along. Will keep eyes open for more information in the next chapter!

Now this should be interesting... The entire pilot was revolved around saving the O'Neils's from the Kraang. And since April is save and sound with the turtles (right...?), how will this new exploration develop?
As for their birthdays. Yes, Mikey and Murakami would absolutely go all out for "April-chan" and Donnie would give her a thoughtfully hand-made gift. I also see unlike the series, April escapes quite a bit of the sterner side of Splinter. No real opinions one way or the other, just an observation. Well, onto the next!

Bubble-gum hamsters...interesting title for a Kraang. Those were some nice touches as for April mainly speaking to Donnie telepathically, as well as him being the one who could bring her out of those trances. Nice chapter you've put up; a perfectly believable reaction to a perfectly terrible flashback. Looking forward to reading the next installment!
