2Gone Wanderlust
This characterization of Zelda is strange to me. In the original canon BOTW Zelda resented Link in the beginning over two things; first, she struggled so much with her own power while Link “easily” acquired his by simply pulling the master sword, and second, because her father the king had assigned Link to her as a personal guard so that she’d always have a physical reminder nearby that she still hadn’t gained the sealing power to complete her destiny.
Link was basically a walking/flashing neon sign from her dad telling her to stop messing around as a scholar and to get back to unlocking her power. Her resentment of Link all centered and focused on him being the wielder of the sword that seals the darkness, something she believed was handed to him with no effort, while she had to kneel and pray and “train” for years with nothing to show for it. She’d been anxious, jealous, and at her wits end worrying over whether she’d be able to save the kingdom. She was a relatable character.
The personality of the Zelda you’ve written here is bizarrely horrid in comparison to all that. You characterize her as some sort of cruel and spiteful child with anger issues instead of a pressured but strong girl facing adversity from all sides. Link hasn’t even drawn the master sword at this point in your story yet, her canon reasons for disliking him don’t exist, but Zelda apparently can’t stand the sight of him and constantly wants to viciously slap him just for standing nearby?
Sure, you’ve written that they’ve got history together when they were kids, but he’s just a random guardsman at this point. He’s basically a peasant right now with no knighthood, and he hasn’t even been on the job yet for that long at all…and she just hates him for no decent reason? If he’d goofed hard when they were kids and you’d shown that in a flashback or something, then maybe I’d be able to suspend my disbelief. But all I can see here so far is that Link was a good friend of hers, had been trying to be a good friend when her mom died, and then Zelda just violently turned on him. Now she wants to physically attack him with slaps, mocks him and calls him a stable boy constantly, and degrades him like he’s worth less than the dirt under her shoes? What’s going on here? Do you believe that Zelda is some sort of tyrant in the making or something? Is she going to be a peasant mistreating dictator when she finally ascends to the throne?
Definitely dropping this story. I’m outta here.

Lol, it would have been funnier if he Link went to the king for advice on his feelings. Rhoam's reaction would have been priceless.

“...whenever she felt the castle.”
“...whenever she LEFT the castle.”*
You seem to be a little bit on the spectrum. I see you using completely wrong words with the same letters as the correct words but obviously in a different order.
Earlier you wrote “spare” instead of “spear.” Lol.

Oh my God, the last three chapters were amazing. You did an incredible job. You brought me to tears three times in the last three chapters. I applaud you for that. This is the best thing I've ever read. It's very bittersweet that it's over. I've looked forward to reading it every day. That happy feeling I get whever I saw you post another chapter was unforgettable. I'll never forget this story. Thank you.
