It’s been nearly a year since the last update. My questions is how will shirou deal with Laura since we know that the German had cooked something up. To me shirou is from the Fate route judging by the start of the series. Then the battle in the sky with Houki getting her own IS. Those two scenes is what I am most looking forward to but since this might not be happening since the update system that is the sad part of this story. Almost none of the Alex writer contest story’s are finished. While some would just get, 8- 10 chapters. So author I know you have some other stuff in your life but this story is technically not that bad. Take more time you need but please update soon

on the authors note if a lightsaber something made by human hands and is used as a sword is untraceable how the fuck would Avalon be traceable as a sheath made by the fae out of a concept of a utopia

It wouldnt make sense for shirou to not be able to trace a lightsaber structal analysis literally allows Shirou to understand things like that the only weapon shirou hasnt been able to trace is EA which a sword and made before the concept of swords even existed so that makes EA literally beyond Shirous comprehension if Shirou is able to trace something like a Exaclibur which is a divine construct(it would kill him if he projected it but thats not the point) and is able to trace and project Zelrwich’s sword which is a weapon that takes power from an infinite amount of universes and it actually work im pretty sure he can trace a lightsaber which is still in line with the concept of a sword. Plus saying that structural analysis will work but tracing doesn’t because its “too complex” doesn’t make sense when structural analysis literally make Shirou understand it

Is this Kiritsugu? If so then there are a lot of thinks wrong with this. Kiritsugu only taught Shirou structal analysis(not on the level that Shirou has not even close) and reinforcement he never taught shirou about his circuit he never even opened them all the stuff that shirou knows and uses beyond just normal reinforcement and normal strucual analysis he either had to learn kn his own latee in life or got it via archer

Infinite Stratos plasma blades are way less complex than lightsabers. A lightsaber battery stores more energy than a nuclear reactor and the blade burns hotter than any star, but is almost perfectly contained. There are so many levels of technological mastery to get something close to a lore accurate lightsaber, not even counting the mystical aspect.
The Yukihira Nagata, by contrast, is just a particularly well made plasma torch in design. It doesn't even have internal energy storage, it just gets transmitted power from the IS suit. I agree that Shirou couldn't trace and use it as a plasma weapon. He could probably trace the untransformed sword as while the internals are mechanically complex, it's ultimately a large but mundane sword. He would have no way to power it though.
But you make a good point about prana strain and how it kills shirou to make more powerful stuff. So I'll amend my previous statement: I think he's capable of tracing a lightsaber in theory, but that on his own, especially at his current level, he wouldn't be able to do so physically. But I don't think it's an issue of the lightsaber being to complicated. I just think it'd take too much power that he doesn't have, at least to do it quickly.
But I do think he could make the IS swords in their undeployed state. Not that it changes how you write the story. I just want to chip in on the conversation.

I very much disagree on the idea that Shirou couldn't trace a Lightsaber. His tracing isn't based on mechanical complexity, it's based on how closely the item is to his Origin and whether or not he can comprehend it, the latter of which is almost always a yes as structural analysis allows him to understand anything up to "divine" constructs.
Lightsabers are swords, and powerful "magical" artifacts. An especially noteworthy lightsaber or one that had a noteworthy Kyber Crystal like Darth Bane's, could even work like some of the Noble Phantasms he can trace. All of these things align with Shirou's Origin very well. Lightsabers are more than swords too, and aside from the legend of their wielder, they hold a metaphysical significance that resonates in the blade. The Force flows through them like a conduit. For someone whose boundary conditions for existence are "sword", a blade that channels the soul and is empowered by how in sync you are with it is perfect.
He cannot trace a gun because he cannot "sympathize with its existence", a key component in his advanced version of gradation air. He can do this with swords, speers, and such because they align with his soul. He couldn't trace a blaster, but he most certainly could trace a lightsaber. Some of the crazy noble phantasms Archer has are far more magically complex than the lightsaber is mechanically.
The primary limiting factor is Shirou's shit circuits. He's way slower than archer than tracing as he has poor bandwidth, so to speak. So it might take him a while, but he could do a lightsaber.
