I received an official visit notifying me of my husband's death. He was career army. You always knew there was a chance you just never believed it would happen to you until it does. I still love him, miss him and grieve for him everyday

My husband was in the US Army for 30 and a half years. Since he was a helicopter mechanic he had the choice is either retiring with years or age. He choose age. I was married to him for 25 of those years. I still have nightmares of the day an army chaplain and a higher ranked man came to tell me he had died while on deployment in the middle east. No I didn't suffer from broken heart syndrome but had it not been for our daughter I would have purposely joined him. I still miss him everyday and still love him so very much. I cried while reading this

Oooh, intrigue. Why did the DoD claim that Ranger had died? And why in Kandahar? And why was he still in the dark about it? Was it because they weren’t planning on him ever leaving his “debrief” in Houston?

Oh how fun this was! Romance and a little light comedy at the end. What they have had to go thru to get here is beyond what the normal couple could endure but they are far from the normal couple. Just up and buying a home that is not even up for sale yet is one of Rangers interesting quirks.
