It’s surprising you set up Naofumi to lose since in the WN he won the battle of attrition and concept using the power of the whole planetGlass’ world times 1000 (or something like that), while the LN version is presumably even stronger. Even a ‘tie’ or ‘draw’ would be better.
What I don’t get is Rishia being there. Not only is she minor nobility from another country in major financial crisis, but she’s never fought before in her life and a scholar/nerd who we assumed dropped out of school because of it.
Aultcray wanted to give the heroes the so ‘cream of the crop’ and inviting foreign nobility when he could instill his own into the heroes party was never going to cut it, because as we know, Rishia before learning from Granny sucked a lot as a below average combatant.

To compare one self to another is like comparing a Mac to a PC. Both have their uses, and strengths, and unique functions, while also being able to do much of the same things. Sure your could compare them, but what’s the point? They are different in ways that only the one comparing them will care about. So stop making the comparisons, it does nothing but hurt you. If you ever need a reminder, just read this again.

This is a story I would absolutely love to see more of. I'm no stranger to time-travel fics, especially in the Shōnen category, and I know there's a balance to strike between making the experience both enjoyable and meaningful to read. We want to see our protagonist experience New Game with a flair, but also not just plow through everything and give the base story a lack of substance. I enjoyed Naofumi's experience thus far, and I'm only looking forward to the possibilities with the early additions to his party.
I hope I one day get that random e-mail that this story has been updated. We've only just scratched the surface of a great storyline and I hope to see it continued.
