I was surprised about Rishia and Myne actually. I really doubt Myne was leveled that high in canon. If I recall, she was very inept at learning magic and only did so by magic ball. Cannon also states that Motoyasu did all the fighting and had the girls stay back and watch. Her high level actually made me not like this chapter a bit as it's not a logical choice.

Rishia bothers me, but to a lesser degree. She never originally came and joined the heroes. She was kidnapped when her parents refused to sell her ti a noble, by said noble. She was then saved by Itsuki which is why she was so obsessed. She was young and immature like him and became obsessed with his hero bit. She was so obsessed she tried to drown himself when her falsely accused her of an accident because he was jealous that she was so popular after the wave at Cal Mira.

Why didn't you just have him out her as the princess? Have him apologize that he was unsure if he could protect her. Better yet, why not up and travel to the next town to find better mobs to fight.

Are you kidding. You don’t think this is a good story. It’s the best,Second Chance” story there is right now. I’ve been reading fanfic for years so I can say this is a good story. We love it and I know you will get more love with more chapters. Look at Diligence of the Shield Hero, I bet the person writing it didn’t think it was going to be that good and now it’s one of the top ROTSH fanfics. I believe in you, you can do it

I guess Naofumi wanted to make a grand entrance for shock and awe tactics by intentionally making sure he was way late and bringing Raphtalia with him. Especially with Raphtalia being their dressed in high quality clothing, wearing a dagger, looking very health and happy, which will send a message that while Raph is his slave he values her very much and takes care of her. I do like Nao defends his use of having a slave in his party by bringing a law book that goes into great technical detail that in Melromarc that slavery was made legal by Aultcray Melromarc 31 and is encouraged that higher echelons of society have slaves and that includes the 4 cardinal heroes. I do like how Nao already knew this knowledge by heart because of Melty but to make sure it does not come off as suspicious he brought the legal book.
I do like how Nao says if the 3 other heroes have a problem with slaver, then they need to take it up with King Aultcray and not him. Especially with Raphtalia as they can see treated well and is valued by him. So while Nao does have a slave he does not treat her like how people usually do by basically treating her like an equal. I do love how Nao totally shuts down Motoyasu by saying his main objects of Raph being a slave is not because of the ethics but because he finds her attractive. So Nao says Motoyasu is worse because he is potential pedophile, while Nao is using her as his sword, he also will raise her teaching her and protecting her.
I do love how Naofumi manipulates the situation into where he forces into a conner and forces him to never again threaten him over any one he has in his party. It hilarious the hole Trash and Moto dig themselves before Nao uses his fearful presence power. I do like how Nao tries to get Trash to publicly admit why he seems to be hell bent on trying to paint Nao as a villain. I do like how almost all of Trashes threats Nao either ignores or calls his bluffs and making Trash look foolish and weak. I do love how Nao say if Trash goes after his party members, he will live only to regret it. Then how trash seems making it hazardous for him or anyone he cares about and how many be he should leave Melromarc to protect another countries land.
I do like how after Trash gives in he gives a vague explanation why the reason he hates Nao is because the last Shield hero had bad relations with him. I do love how he had to back down from Nao and apologies to him. Interesting twist in Risha Ivyred being at gathering of companions at the capitol to choose which of the 4 cardinal heroes they wish to join. Considering in canon she was not there and was saved by Itsuki, that means her family must be in much better situation than in canon in this story. I do like why Risha chose to join Naofumi’s party is because how passionately he defended his party member, meaning he will also do so for her. it hilarious how Jelly Raphtalia is about sharing Nao’s attention with another person.
Poor Nao is basking in the moment of having Risha joining his part now instead of several months later in canon, has Bitch having to ruin it. I do agree with Nao that Malty foul human being but she is master actress. I do like how Nao does give Bitch a chances to not join his group but she insts on it.
I do love how Myne’s attempt to get Nao to spend so of his money on her fall flate. How Nao says he’s got his shield, Raphtalia has her dagger, Risha has her staff and she has a expensive sword on her hip. I do love how she is dumb founded by him being able to see her sword dispite how well she hid it. I like how Nao shuts down B’s suggestion that they all get strong armor by saying the enemies they are going to be fighting are to weak to poses much threat and if anything does threaten them, he will protect them.
I do like how Naofumi’s 2 new party members react to the knowledge that he is already has been leveling before the other 3 heroes have even left capital’s palace. With Risha she both surprised that he has been training and awe at how dedicated to his new duty as the Shield Hero. While B is very annoyed that Nao already knows how to level up, which has further damage her, father and the churches plot to have the Shield Hero weak and die early on in the waves.
I do like why B is trying to figure how adept to this new snag in the plot, Nao has linked Risha to his party and is asking her to link into his party. Then B is now has been cornered by Nao in way is not suspicious, she has to join his party official to not be suspicious but in doing so will reveal that she is not just any commoner being at such a high level. I do like how Nao reads levels of people in order of lowest to highest being: Nao level 5, Raphtalia level 6, Risha level 15 and Myne level 32. I do love how the 3 lower level people react to the fact that miss average commoner is only 8 levels short of the level 40 cap and is over twice the level of Risha.
I do like how Nao now realizes why Motoyasu thought the early levels for him were so easy, he was a level 1 being helped out by a level 32! I do like how Risha is now totally suspicious of Myne. That she wont do anything against Myne at the moment since Nao hasn’t done anything in response to it but has a feeling that Nao is also suspicious of Myne. I do like how Risha is going to be on guard with Myne but at the same time give her the benefit of the doubt and give her chance to show whether she has ill intent toward Nao or not.
Its interesting to see from Bitches POV where she tries to grapple with so many things going wrong already with the plot against Naofumi. Then she physic herself up into thinking that despite what has gone wrong in the end her sides plot will be victorious. I do like how Bitch knows she needs to make sure that Risha is sleeping in a different room than Naofumi for the plot to be successful.
Depression comes in many different forms for people. For me as someone who is suffers chronic depression ( have been for over 15 years), particularly of late its like trying keeping myself from drowning in a sea negativity. With bouts of extreme anxiety about things I have done 1000s of times before and also with bouts of anger at everything including myself for being not able to doing the things I need to do but don’t due to depression making me not do it. Its makes it hard to feel good emotions, like when you have done a good job on something feel satisfaction for doing but now often I just feel it for moment or 2 and then its back to crushing negativity. That’s why it has taken so long to get around start writing this review and then finishing it.
So I total get what you’re saying but ignore those mental naysayers who say you done have anything to write about. This story so far in my opinion is in the to 5% of fanfictions of Rise of the Shield Hero on this website. You may post chapters few and far between but then you do, you write them at high level quality of writing, with barley any grammar or spelling errors. You barely have any continuity errors and those are small and minor issues you can easily edit and repost this chapter when you post the next chapter of this AMAZING story! You have plenty to add to ROTSH fanfiction and its not just me there are many other people think this is a good story and say it in chapter reviews.
So try to post a new chapter once say every 3 months to give yourself goal to reach that I believe that you can do but does not also make you feel too anxious. I BELIEVE in you! I would not write such in depth chapter review of a story that does not deserve it! I had much happiness gained from reading this excellent chapter and reviewing it. Also, thank you for sharing this painful and personal issue of depression with us readers. Being able to share such thing with people is an important step in resisting the drowning negativity that depression is. Keep up the Awesome work dippytrippy122, till next time!

Eh I haven’t seen a story written like this yet, I usually don’t read stories that don’t have 30-40k words written already though so I could have missed them I suppose. This is written quite well so far so keep it up!
