Just pcked up this fic... and I had a funny feeling it was goinv to fall over here, you just seemed like you were having more fun with it before Luffy trapped you into writing about "pirates". Noone in the fic even takes his claim seriously, and if he had any of the sense left he had in east blue he might realise there's better ways to be free - and help the world be truly free - than abandoning everything he's already fought for. He'd even have freed ypu ftom the plot straitjacket!
Plesse don't give up, it is a genuinely fresh take on things still. He could still even stop being a "pirate" if he had to.

This story is really good. I started reading your fate story and I found it extremely entertaining so I tried this story as well. Personally I thought one piece is kind of too good and any fan fic of one piece couldn't hope to be as entertaining as the original. You've proved me wrong. But new revelations in the story makes Luffy's journey almost impossible without the gum gum fruit. So it must be really challenging to continue this story knowing that current events in the original story wont make sense in your fan fic. But have you thought of giving the staff that Luffy carries the gum gum fruit instead. That would be a bit more similar to Sun Wukong's staff. Was that your intention all along?

Nami ftw here. With a form that big she must've climbed that mountain hella fucking fast. If there's any romantic pairing I personally think Vivi would be great for the poetic irony. Luffy as a King who think's he's abandoning his people for his dreams not realizing that as far as they are concerned he'll always be there King. Being paired with a princess, making him a King twice over at some point three if you count King of the Pirates.

hahaha! The only thing is. Following the events of the story line of One Piece itself. Luffy isn't actually a Pirate in this story at all despite his crew flying the black flag. He comes into the grandline and scuffles with a bounty hunter group, fights a king which as a king himself he can legally do, and then stops a Warlord who overstepped his powers as a warlord. His next Adventure is in Skypeia where the marines have no presence and topples a self proclaimed god. As of this point he looks like a king who got bored and decided to "play" pirate like Wapol. It's not until the events with CP9 where they attack Enies Lobby that people will really realize that he's serious about being a Pirate for real. Then he takes out a Warlord who attacks him first which if Enies Lobby doesn't happen means he'd still be considered playing Pirate until he gets to Sabaody where he punches a Celestial Dragon who ranks higher than him on the Noble scale.
This mean Enies Lobby is actually the crux of this story for him truly becoming a pirate in the eyes of the world.
Ultimately the running joke is poor Luffy doesn't want to be a Hero, but he keeps stepping into the role of a Hero King without meaning to xD

actually with the right imagination practically all of the Logia fruits have the potential to be fun in their usage. But the closest one to the gomu gomu no mi is the mochi mochi no mi from katakuri and the ame ame no mi at least this was true before the unveiling of the fact that the fruit it actually a mythical zoan with the real name of hito hito no mi model nika.

This is one of the best fanfictions of One Piece. Been missing reading new chapters was always fun. Hope we get an update in December especially since in Drum Island still.
