This is a great end of this year's story, which shows how Christmas can happen many ways. Advent had always shown the spirit of Christmas being shared the through giving from Rick to Kate and the reverse. These two chapters show the gift from the Castle to everyone else, showing how despite the stark reality of today's world, the wonder of Christmas can still happen.

I always love Castle finding out how much Beckett liked his books before meeting him and this was a perfect and very sweet way for him to learn the truth.

THE SQUIRREL! The "I stole a tree-no you did" was also greatness! I feel like this could be the HBO version of a Christmas ep! "Everything can be redeemed" broke my heart and I loved it :)

Ooh I like this dark sarcastic Kate. And the equally dark and brooding Rick. I'm really gonna have to read your Army Spy series. "Go get me a tree, Richard." truly made me laugh and it's the perfect payoff to their banter/bickering earlier. I've said before I enjoy a good metaphor and the "lit fuse of anger" was indeed very good! It's all so plausible to their story and you always write that so well :)
