An excellent chapter to be sure, and some great points were made about Draco and to Draco as well, which apparently he listen to. Though honestly, one thing that always annoyed me about the Harry Potter series at the end was that Draco never seemed to pay for any of the things he did, the people he almost killed, the actions that lead terrorists into the school.
Personally, for me he never really did anything that brought about a real absolution for his character, and it annoys me that he has friends that think he is a poor tortured soul who deserves forgiveness, when he hasn’t done anything to deserve forgiveness in my eyes.
The same thing with Snape, Who was an incredibly better and selfish man and whose sins really couldn’t be forgiven. Alan Rickman made the character much more likable to be sure, but certainly not a man you should name your son after.
Nonetheless, this was a fantastic story and was really fun to read, thank you very much for the work you put into it, it definitely matches your top tier quality.

I genuinely was not expecting the spirits to be what they were. Nicely done!
I can't say that I sympathize at all with Draco. That isn't because he was poorly written, but more due to what you touched on in this very story - that canon-Draco's lack of *any* redemption arc makes him entirely unforgivable. It was nice seeing Tonks tear him apart.
If this is a prequel, you did a great job of world-building without having the protagonist on stage. It's like something out of a movie. Excellent work!

Truly a wonderful story! A wonderful single shot that has so much content before and after it. So fun to read and dream of how the present was developed and how the changes foreshadowed will play out.
