You know when Rukia first gives Ichigo her powers he's mainly running through that first portion with her spiritual energy. There's some leakage of his own but not a lot of it. His encounter with Byakuya injuring him clears out Rukia's spiritual energy and after that he has to get access to his own energy. Based off what we learn during the blood war though. From the moment Ichigo gained his real powers he should have been Captain class right from the get go seeing as how Lieutenants we're beatable without Bankai training. That's because the Old Man Zangetsu was sealing away most his power from the beginning. Ichigo was only ever wielding a fraction of his powers what spilled over past the restriction. In times of stress he would get just a bit more power released but he was always restricted. Of course without all this his Shikai would likely have been a single blade. It only became two blades because of how he viewed both the hollow side Zangetsu and Old Man Zangetsu as being Zangetsu. Two blades one representing each of them and each focusing specific powers into it. One hollow shinigami the other Quincy shinigami.

good chapter, I thought the sexual parts were a bit out of place since it is the chapter that raises the loom to the next act, the "invasion" of the soul society, formally known as "The soul society seizes face the whirlwind that is Kurosaki Ichigo" I'm not so sure with your story, and it hasn't happened often, while the other stories have done it, they did it in a way that I don't agree with or they added other facets that made it confusing, and I mean for Ichigo to have access to his double zanpakuto from the start, in this case it's still a rather low chance, but it's nice to read a decent conversation between Ichigo and White Zangetsu while neither is antagonistic to the other, and the old man's presence isn't too bad, although I'd still prefer his young appearance any day

Time to learn some more kido and zanpakatou abilities and head off to the soul society. Cant wait, especially when the angry make up sex happens :3

Nice character building chapter, Ichigo being honest with Orihime and Tatsuki is pretty in character for him if he's in a relationship with them and it has the bonus of the latter being introduced to the supernatural way earlier than canon which has interesting possibilities. Now onto the next chapter...
