Loved this chapter from the early draft and outline.
My favorite parts were when both Shinji and Asuka feared that Aki would start to go into their own sad pasts. I think it highlighted every parent fear and the fact that Aki IS the child of Shinji and Asuka, having a little bit of both their best features, but potential to also go into darker paths.
And Shinji's solution was awesome. Asuka better thank him properly :).
