This is one of the most adorable fics I've ever read. And though I obviously have a bit of a bias considering that you wrote the fic for me, I think my claim still stands. When you asked me which pairing I wanted for this fic, I knew that I'd have to pick something special. And this fic, my friend, is very special.

You build up a bond with these characters from the start, having them doing stable duty together for a week, and Flayn is clearly close enough to Hubert from this time together that she has no fear in not only joking at his expense, but also speaking frankly and openly with him. Alrighty we've gone farther than the game does, as these two have no supports together.

I haven't gone through Hubert's entire support library though. Did Hubert actually want to learn how to ride a pegasus? Or was it something that you completely made up? Regardless of the answer, it seems totally natural here. And even ust the little blurp with how Hubert's dad treats him... I can also see it as a reason why Hubert turns out the way he does regarding personality. Not sure if that was purposeful or not though, but it works!

I also love the slow eroding of Hubert's unbreaking resolve. Flayn's simple, logical, and kind words slowly whittle away his reasonings on why he can't indulge and do something that HE wants for once in his life, even mentioning his duty to Edelgard and how being selfish could take away from her ambitions.

And then Flayn's final nail in the coffin about the wind in the hair and nothing like being in the sky, leading to the fic's best line regarding Hubert: "His resolve crumbled." I can only imagine the thoughts swirling around his head that finally lead to him to break down and just have some fun. "Edelgard... or the only dream I've ever had in my life?" Either way, he's going to have fun explaining this to Edelgard if she ever catches him and Flayn in the sky together! :D

Watching Hubert break in such an innocent way is one of my favourite parts of this fic. And trying to keep his excitement secret throughout the fic is fun too, like trying to hide his smile or at the end when it says that his demeanour falls prey to his excitement. It would have been cute to see how Flayn reacts to these little things! Flayn throughout this entire fic is super adorable, but not in an annoying way like she can occasionally be within the game.

All in all, like I said before, this fic is so cute. I knew that you would do this couple 100% justice when I suggested them to you. And you delivered. The pre-romance vibe was definitely the best way to go with these two. I would love to see a sequel to this, but I think I would be playing with fire in that regard! You ask if I liked this fic? I LOVED IT! Thank you SO much for writing it! Certainly one of my top 3 favourites from you for sure! Just so innocent between the two of them!

Or at least until you get to the part when Edelgard catches the two of them doing hardcore baby-making on Saffron's back in the sky.

An odd pairing, but you managed to make it work here, haha. The pre-romance vibe suits them well, and tying in Hubert's apparent wish to ride Pegasi was a nice touch.
