Well, I’ve binge read these last four chapters, which I should not have done because my voice is hoarse from yelling “Yeah! Yes! Exactly!” And my arm is tired from punching air. I’ll try to keep up on future updates so I can read all these good points in smaller doses.
I really do wish with all my heart that Gaius had set Arthur down and administered a few home truths during the series. These chapters have all been a way of living the dreams. Thanks!

Once again, spot on. Gaius looked very much, at the end of the episode, as if his loyalty and once-friendship with Uther had been completely and utterly demolished. I think this would definitely have been the direction he would have gone. Really well done!

Awesome! I always hated that aspersions were cast on Gaius’ courage and morals. And I detested the Druids. They were so hypocritical. “Yes, we are so peaceful, we would never hurt anybody, so you hurry up and go do it for us, kid. Best get on with it. The clock’s ticking! More of us are dying by the day but we can’t be bothered to actually get the heck out of Camelot or give you any help or education even though you’re barely out of childhood...” Thank you for saying it! I also loved the family history you came up with.

This story is marvelous! Everything Gaius said was dead on and I so wish he'd done it on the show. I share your dislike for how Arthur continually over worked & refused to listen to Merlin's, no matter how often he was proved right. This version of Arthur seems capable of learning and I look forward to the next chapter :) Thanks!

Excellent story with very valid points. Merlin having Druid relatives was a fascinating twist & I share Gaius's indignation (rage?) that they never tried to keep in touch, or help him in any way, even after they knew that he was Emrys. I love that Merlin has someone able and willing to stand up for him :)
With regards to the previous snippet - perhaps Merlin could inform Morgana about the prophecies of Emrys and the Once & Future King so she'd see there was another way to get what she wants. Then he could give Morgana the bottle of poison & let her threaten suicide if Morgause doesn't remove the spell. She could use some of Merlin's arguments against Morgause & demand explanations. Would Morgause let Morgana die or would she switch to a long game, break the spell & continue trying to win Morgana over to her side later? Could Morgana take advantage of all the commotion and sneak back to the Druid camp to learn more about her powers & the prophecies. Her last visit didn't end very well (season 2, episode 3 'The Nightmare Begins') & she would technically still be "missing" but this time Merlin (and maybe Arthur) could help cover for her and the knowledge she'd learn could prevent many future horrors. Just an idea, there are still many plot holes to fill to create a complete story - feel free to fill them in if you're inspired :)
