Smells like weeb spirit. And speaking of music, wow, that line about the tra-la-la, it’s like I’m back in college in the mid-2000s.
I was wondering what might result from pulling Aiko and Sarah in one of these shorts, and none of my mental images were pretty. But this works out pretty well.
It sounds to me like “Keiji” is less of an ex, more of someone who would rather have fantasy women than the real thing, which she learned for herself are better. Which gives me some fun mental images.
Again, the only possible cherry on the sundae: I was wondering if Aiko would mention that, of all the Nipponese words for Sarah to get right, she at least pronounces “manga” correctly. That’s right, those of you who say it “mayng-ga,” for a brief, shining moment, you’re more annoying than Sarah.

I sense the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
Not gonna lie, Suki's attempts to speak Jaaa-pa-neeese made my head wince. Thank goodness Aiko had her "flask of courage" to buff her defenses. Also, should there be a Tiffany tag on this story? (At least I imagined her as the unnamed student at the end.)
I'm kind of curious about this Keiji character Aiko mentions in passing. Was he a teenage crush? An impossibly hot shut-in that captured her heart? It might be neat to see him pop up again if Aiko ever discusses her exes or the ones who got away.
