To answer your question about a "What Happened Next?" fic following up on the events of "Return of the Phantom", the definitive fanfiction for that episode IMHO would have to be "Reprise" by Theresa Karle. I don't know if it's still available online, but you might try Catfish's Seaview Stories website; if it's not there, Catfish might know where to find it. (A Google search didn't turn up anything for me. Sorry.)
Theresa was kind enough to allow me to use some elements of "Reprise" in my prequel/pre-incarnation fic, "Overture", which is set during World War I.

I really liked your story. Was there any doubt about the episode or the return of the phanton? I'd like to read something about what it was like after Nelson rescued Lee wounded from that island. How was their relationship. And how Nelson saw Lani and Krueger.

Based on the reviews, I wasn't expecting to like this story, but I did. It made things darker and more sinister. It lacked the fun of the episode but made up for it in horror and supernatural elements.
The Regan/chimpanzee line made me laugh. Were you also making a crack about Trump too?

I liked it, but it was very similar with your first version. You could have done something better, more supernatural and included Chip and the admiral. A mummy living in Lee's body and empowered, your story has lost the meaning. Lee coming back all rotten inside the mummy also lost context.
At least it was worth the try and it wasn't another boring and poorly written story about this Tereza471.
