I take it that this is Lauren's father who's trying to kill Naylor and Hayes. am I right? or maybe just someone who is tired of all the bs in the town? either way this was a fantastic chapter! very impressed that Joe was able to keep his cool with Hayes. looking forward to the final chapter! btw, I know exactly how you feel about delays. writer's cramp here! have a great night!

I was so excited to get an alert a new chapter had been posted! Great chapter, very much worth the wait. I was so surprised when the mystery man shot at Hayes, that was a nice twist. I can’t wait to see how this story wraps up, awesome job.

Wow, this chapter was worth the wait..the Chief came alone but there is an assailant after him! Despite their amazing background, Hope the Hardys don't get caught in the crossfire. Wondering if it's Lauren's dad or Gabes dad. Either way, an enemy of an enemy is a friend..really hoping there is more than one chapter :) waiting for the next!

Hayes seems awfully confident considering his circumstances - or just thinks he can bluff his way out. How foolish - trying to outbluff a bluffer. Is this Lauren's father, I wonder - and was he in on the extortion racket to start with?

LOL, as soon as I saw the "one more chapter," my first thought was, "nope, no way." LOL And then I saw your comment about me. I think there should be at least 2 more chapters. Don't rush it. :) And yes, I was getting ready to message you this week to make sure you were okay. So glad it was just business and nothing bad. :)
I have to say, I wasn't expecting Frank to say something about taking a head shot and shooting to kill. lol I expect that more from Joe.

you better have a good plan, Joe. it's dangerous to be alone in that house with Naylor especially with Hayes coming. who knows what Hayes will have up his sleeve. Hopefully frank comes out of the barn to help as well. good chapter.
