The cliffhanger from last chapter has still not been revealed...waiting for it.
Jessica calling Bess and George was a wise move indeed. I feel that Nancy might not really know that Jessica would get into contact with them...I wonder how she is going to react.
What a timing! Jessica calling at the very moment when Bess and George are on a call with Frank and Joe...otherwise the Hardys would probably have got to know about it much, much later...
No idea where Reston is from. I haven't really read any of the casefiles actually...
Whenever I am reading the name Jessica, it persistently reminds me of The Merchant if Venice, lol.

Nan Girl Wednesdays! I like this chapter, too. Considering that this is an "interlude" chapter of sorts, Nancy has been shot but no one has gotten to her yet, it's proof that we all want emotions and character/relationship development. Nice nod to how lucky the group is, they found out about Nancy while everyone was on the phone-also, the connection between Frank and Nancy. ;) No need for Bess and George to second-guess themselves, no one could have prevented this. Good description of Nancy's pink lips for CPR, although those lips should be meeting in a kiss! Apt imagery of the ravine between Frank and Nancy, both literally and figuratively; we'll fix that in a chapter or two. I'm enjoying the tension but also looking forward to our favorite couple getting together!

Happy Diwali!(A little belated)
Frank thinking about his phone conversation in the dark was a great scene...I guess everyone has sat and analysed phone calls for hours when no one is around...At least I do it... :)
Blurting out about it to his brother seemed realistic since he must have been so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't consider what to mention and what not to...
I wondered why Nancy had shut herself up so desperately...now it reveals why...
Ned's parting words must have been heartbreaking. And Nancy must have had a hard time having to choose between her career and her personal life...and Reston's stinging comments won't help either...
Those gun-shots...I don't know if it is possible but could it have been that Reston saw the police and shot himself to escape being jailed...it is going to keep me wondering till wednesday...

I'm not familiar with this song but I might be checking it out just because. I'm not a big Selena Gomez fan either. Anyway, I'm intrigued as to what the case is that Frank had offered Nancy but I'm also wondering who was crying for help at the end. Was it her roommate? Bess? George? Wow! Frank and Joe can't save her, isn't she across the country from them now?! Surprised that Jessica left, but it is also true that Jessica could immediately run back in with reinforcements. And more clues about the mysteries we really care about, what happened with Ned and friends: Ned wanted Nancy to get a safer career, and Nancy wanted to protect her friends. So Nancy sacrificed everything for her mysteries (but really, to help people, since solving mysteries brings justice to people): she gave up Ned, Bess, and George. Then she should have gone back to Frank forever ago! ;) The song gets stuck in my head whenever I even look at this title. Very nice writing, by the way, would never in a million years have known that English is not your first language. Happy that you are writer yourself now, with a regular habit, after you've been so supportive of other writers for so long.

I really like your Nancy Drew/Frank Hardy song fics. If you ever need a song idea for a story I think Taylor Swift's State of Grace is a perfect song to describe their relationship. Anyways, it was just an idea if you need one. Unless you want to stick to strictly Selena Gomez songs

What a lovely surprise! I like the tone of this story, wistful for the wasted time yet hopeful that F/N will get together in the upcoming case. It is significant that F/N didn't fall in love over fireworks, candy and flowers, etc., but rather when Frank refused to leave Nancy's side when she was injured. Good intermittent use of the songs. We've all been there, picking up the phone without looking it and then getting shocked, LOL! That Egypt case is just fabulous, this makes me want to re-read it. Thank you, Gray Man, for bringing our favorite duo back together! And thank you, Nan girl, for writing and sharing.

It was a great opportunity for a coincidence, Nancy thinking about Frank and he calling her right then...Telepathy...
It is great that Nancy is studying forensic science. It does seem highly probable.
I hope Nancy finishes her assignments soon and can channel her full concentration to the case.
