I'm loving this fic. It's really well written and I think it depicts very well both Ron and Hermione's personalities. I wonder, however, what your plans are regarding to the books. I mean, is it some sort of 'missing moments' story? Because yeah, I've read many of those, so I'm hoping you start with canon but will deviate from it at some point, even if only regarding Ron and Hermione's relationship.
Is the twist you're referring to the fact that Hermione bought sexy underwear for Slughorn's party? I loved that, really much. It was really daring of her, that she's planning for Ron to see her underwear on their first date. Not that I don't agree, in my own fics I depict Hermione as daring, passionate and naughty.
However, I've got a criticism to make regarding Ron, and is the fact he is totally missing the point of Hermione buying that for him, and instead thinking it would be for MacLaggen. I usually hate when Ron is depcited as completely oblivious at this point in sixth year, because he wasn't. I mean, okay, Ron's not the most wise boy out there about girls or relationships, but he's not dumb. He might think Hermione invited him out of pity at first, but Hermione's reaction to him with Lavender is pretty obvious. There's no way anyone can see that and not think she's jealous. In fact, Ron himself admits that, when he tells Harry 'he never promised Hermione anything', implying he didn't agree to go to the party as a couple, so he's free. And then Stephen's words are obvious as well. It's true that Ron doesn't act on his feelings in the book, but that's because he is not sure about how, or maybe he thinks Hermione is pissed at him (he tells Harry in the summer if he had had 'Twelve Fail-Safe ways' earlier, he would have known how to get going with Hermione). So okay, he might not do anything, but he must know, at least, she fancied him and wanted to go with him to that party. Besides, he knows Hermione's dat with Cormac went horribly.
Well, besides that, as I say, I'm loving the fic. It's horrible how other girls treat Hermione. Hermione and Ron were friends for years, why couldn't Ron buy a drink for her? And Zabini ... Agh, I was hoping she would hex him, though that would be rather un-hermione-ish.
Anyway, awaiting your next chapters. And, as I said, I hope this story deviates from canon soon and Ron finally gets to see Hermione's knickers :-)

Super cute so far! I love Stephen so cheeky and pleasant, I love when Hermione makes friends beyond Ron and Harry.
I also loved how hard she fought for Ron to pass! Such a sweet moment to see her turn that fire to someone else to defend him.

Fail because half an bloody eye brow! I almost thought she would get the ruling overturned. It was shaping up to be such a sweet moment! Ugh
Oh, Ron! How can you be so oblivious!? Love the idea of a shopkeeper helping Hermione get an outfit for the party and her sharing excitement (secrets) at going with Ron. Fun scene, until Ron got all down and remembered Lavender (ugh again, break up with her already!).
