They actually did reveal the species name of the Endless in one of the audio logs. Also, the reason the Endless are "scarier" than the Flood is because Halo didn't kill them. Whether or not they are actually more dangerous than the Flood remains to be seen, but being immune to the Halo Array is a scary concept.
That said, there's a whole lot to be spoiled about Halo Infinite lol. There's so much lore, and there's multiple subplots that run concurrently. The story was 8/10, and gameplay is 9/10. Can't really ask for more than that, imo.

I honestly like the idea of the Endless being the Demons of Hell. I find it very hard to believe that there is something worse then the Flood when the lore had done everything to make the Flood the worst thing to have ever existed.
So what better way to make the Endless worse then the Flood then to bring in Doom's Hell. Especially having seen Roanoke Gaming and HiddenXperia agreeing the Demons would be victorious against the Flood in and out of Hell.
Plus this is a badass story for Chief and the Slayer to meet and fight together.

First off nice one shot.
Though I hope to see more Halo and Doom xovers whether both crossing over each other, or one crossing over with another franchise...or both in a triple xover with another franchise.
Where Master Chief w/out Cortana & Doom Slayer w/out Vega team up and deal against another franchises' villains, antagonists as they finish this fight by ripping and tearing until it is done...
Damn if the heroes / protagonists don't like it due to moral ground.
Because this is really good and as much as I would like to see our two favorite green soldiers have a fight.
I'd very much like to see the two of them team up much more.
As we could have one of the best pair crossover Chad's in the history of fiction.
Though in terms of the Endless being worse than the flood...I would say perhaps arguably. As right now 343 is slowly going into the good direction for Halo, and right now most likely we will get DLC campaigns for The flood and the endless.
Cause here me out for a moment, we all know that there are numerous different alien species, and races across multiple different worlds.
In terms of Halo we have had bout around 10 alien races total in Halo franchsies from combat evolved to Halo infinite which includes the books.
I'm just overall wanting to see new alien races pop ups and I want to see of what will the rest of the Endless look like and also what is their weaponry.
Much like how humanity has theirs, same for the covenant, and lately the Prometheans.
So again give it time 343 will be giving updates for Halo infinite. It's just a matter of when for the story DLC.

They've gotta make their own big bad that can compete with the Flood, but they're doing everything wrong. Harbinger talking about the Endless is like a snot-nosed brat on the playground saying "my dad could beat up your dad."
There was no such pomp and circumstance introducing the Flood in Halo: Combat Evolved. You go from watching Jenkins helmet cam footage to immediately being flooded by infection forms. No time to ponder what the fuck is happening.
