A good start, although this part here seems a little awkward imo:
"That's the thing, before it could get worse and people died during the shootout, Spider-Man appeared!"

I think it be better if it were simplified to "before it could get worse."

You might also want to avoid having character lines on the same line as the other, but aside from that, this is promising so far.
