That last ch31 question. I think I know the reason. He used those moves the night Naruto was born. With his opponent being the yellow flash. He also used the name Madara that night.
There was no telling who Minato could have relayed that to before he died so using his powers like he did that night could have tipped his hand and linked his group with mandora, witch as we saw was enough of a threat to create the alliance.
Toby wasn't ready for something like that.
