the Sasuke and Kakashi you are making sounds cool. with Narutos "hidden potential" being exposed with his mastery of water walking they no longer look down on him so their friendship has a nice way to grow. and who know maybe Sasuke won't leave the village. Id also like Shikamaru to be involved and hiruzen. they could help him with his build, help him lead his shadows, and develop nice bonds. Shino would be cool too. he doesn't get enough love.
for his second shadow he could use and animal from the forest of death, or an enemy Shinobi, or even one of shinos bugs.

doesn't make sense for zabuza to acknowledge Naruto as master when he barely knows him, especially considering the level difference. narutos speech should be something more, like Naruto deciding to continue the path of the sword and needing a teacher or needing to become a real ninja, which is something canon Naruto rejected btw, you need to show more thought process than just that, you can't railroad the entire way following canon. its fine for now, but it's your story, Kakashi is no doubt watching him, no way he can allow the host of the nine tails out of his sight or awareness, and no doubt curious as to what Naruto wants to do alone.

Well I liked the chapter.
1.A. I know it's a easy out but honestly haku didn't get to tell her story and it would be weird from anyone else and out of anyone the one most likely to heed his call is haku plus there's not really much death let alone good deaths he could call upon for a while and by that point he will have more extractions I mean sure from this point for words there's a distinct difference going to happen but zabuza alone isn't really weighty enough to make a big difference and haku has a lot of useful skills but my biggest point is naruto using her like a tool I mean sure he dosn't want to see it that way but haku would happily be his tool even as he makes her do things she would have never done in life.
1.B. Ok if you are really really against haku at least at this point in time there is one character I do recommend and specifically for the sherch for tsunade arc you have shadow zabuza for kasami but there's only one person I want to fight itachi izumi uchiha torturing the man by making him fight the love of his life that he used as a measuring stick to test his resolve is sadistic especially if she some how becomes self aware and gains a ms because of it I mean itschi loves to say that only sauske deserves to end his life but shadow Izumi sure as hell would have precedence and itachi might just let himself be murdered in front of his emotionally unstable brother or sauske might get a surprise hit with the chadori in his daze either way this is interesting but again naruto should at minimum have one more slot by then and maximum 2 so this can wait till the crash.

You don't want to know how many times I've seen naruto desperate heruizn literally after the funeral plus heruizn is to strong right now I don't mind a few years down the road of the story but no immediate heruizn please the third hokage is great and all but after the story were naruto turned him into a puppet its a pretty big turn off.
2. You know this is a very good question and one I don't immediately have a answer to I mean naruto's writing and world building did disservice to so many characters over all there's really no end to the possibility but I do think I know who I want to be explored and I have good reason for it.
Fu yup the 7 tails jinchuraki why. Well that's simple there's a special that naruto goes to the waterfall you know who's not in it fu. She's about naruto's age. We honestly see so little of the 8 other jincuraki of naruto's era. The attack on the waterfall would be the ideal place to introduce hedain and kakazu I mean the waterfall is kinda irrelevant to the greater whole of the story baring kakazu was banished for failing the very simple task of killing hesirama, Fu was from it and willingly allowed the alatski to get rid of her tailed beast after her own teammates abandoned her and were murdered, and it's the reason why there was no ninja above genin available for the sauske retrieval mission. 2 kakazu stole their greatest weapon in the Earth grudge fear him going back with hedain would be a party he can steal all the jutsu steal the hero water and let hedain have his party I mean outside of a potential base for him to leave one of his hearts and some earth grudge fear as a fail safe the hero water would be trivial to him and after camping there getting it he would perpetually get stronger through changing it every year for the Shippuden 3 year time skip what 4 full bottles of the stuff how much power would he receive. But ultimately naruto and co bringing what's left of the village home in fu gives the leaf another jincuraki and that's a interesting narrative point.
Question of my own boruto has a time turtle gai has a turtle summoning contract will we see a wacky time travel arc or will you save that for lost tower were naruto may or may not have rebuilt the uzamaki clan in the past?
(Please have naruto at minimum get the Princess of lost tower pregnant while not canon there was no defendants in the original time line and wean naruto went to the future he met the Princess's decedent who gave him back his sword it's always been head canon that naruto lost his virginity in the past and minato's mind wipe meant naruto dosn't realise that he's talking to potentially his grand child or child.)

For the question : Fuu from takigakure, She is in the chuning exams but bareli anyone uses that and I want to save her, she can understand Naruto situation, because she is also a jinjuriki and can bring a lot to the story. Karin, She is also in the chuning exams, she is an Uzumaki, and naruto having a family member that it's in love with him for saving her of the bear would be bery funny, also, she can tell him about the clan kekkai Genkai and unlock the adamantine chains, and search for the clan fuinjutsu. Tenten, She is a bad used character but its normal when a weapon user hhave a martial artist master that trains other student over her. With proper guidance (Ej: Yugao) and magic weapons (provided by Naruto's power) the story changes very much.

Ya know, I was worried the bridge fight was going to be closer to cannon then I'd like, and then you had Naruto do one of the most Naruto moves I think I've read in a fic.
As for your first question, I honestly feel like Haku should be the second with how you wrote this. In general I would've picked them as the first, but considering the situation there's really no reason for Naruto not to talk Haku into being a Shadow Servant. It can be looked at as an "easy way out" but it's the most logical thing to do unless you really just don't want to.
But aside from Haku, a pick for second is hard to settle on unless you want to kill a major character, or drag filler characters into something between Wave and the Chunin Exams. The Rain Team in the forest of Death?
Now for the second question, I'd like to see litterally any of the female cast explored. You've already earned my trust by not writing Sakura as a screaming banshee, so it would be nice to see you give her more Character. Although whoever you settle(d) on for the ship will take priority over that.
