Not bad just small nitpick because of the grill. Doesn't make much sense since they train and specialize with dogs, so them owning grill doesn't make sense considering it would create more trouble with the dogs considering the smell. That's why I believe most people do Akimichi. It make sense and they are foodies after all.

When she finds out the details of the deception Kurotsuchi is going to kick Naruto's ass!
Q1: Naruto seems to be favoring strength, so with Zabuza as a mentor for water style I don't see why he wouldn't also learn a similar weapon style as to Zabuza, he even has the knowledge about where Kubikiribucho is.
Q2: Unfortunately none of the other fights really compare, Lee vs Gaara is just too damn good!

Long Knife and Short Sword
Recurve Bow/Compound Bow
(I haven't really seen a bow in Naruto in fanfiction You can use seals on the arrows like explosive arrows flash arrows etc to make arrows stronger )

another good chapter. to answer the first question I would pick a staff or a spear for melee and a sickle with chain for longer range with the ability to bind an enemy and if killing is a thing a cross bow. maybe some sealing to be able to carry it all. my favorite fight was shika vs temari

Awesome as always if a little irritating with the cliffhanger. q1: Polearms all the way! I'm unsure if there was even a single polearm user in the entire show and I think it would be fun to see a fighting style revolving around one for a change. I particularly like how Guan Dao looks and I think it would fit the world quite well too.
q2: they did most original cast people dirty, but my favourite was either the gaara v lee or the Neji v Naruto. The former definitely looked better but the latter felt a lot more significant.
Anyways, thanks for sharing!

Q1With Naruto going with water affinity, I think a good one that isn't used very often is a whip, or even a whip blade. If he can learn to channel his water chakra through it, it could make his attacks more fluid and silent.
Q2I have to say my favorite fight was Naruto vs Kiba, just because of how he won. Between the fart and copying Sasuke's copy of Lee's move, it was great.

At the being of the chapter, you put "Why were they going to Konoha?" instead of Iwa.

I'm liking the change for the genin to have to do a specific mission to be able to participate in the Chunin exams, instead of what Iruka did to test them in cannon. Nice touch there.
