Well, Naruto has some options here.
He can't really ask him what affinity is better for what since he will want to keep the auspiciousness at minimum regarding his system, but! He does have some information.
First: Zabuza in the words of this Naruto fic, he realised how much potential water has, and also Zabuza shadow might be persuaded to lend him some tips.
Second: Fire, Sasuke element and knows what he has seen him do.
Third, and the one I personally think he should pick: lightning, Kakashi just told him that is his affinity, and probably saw the chidori or raikiri already at this point when haku died. I think his deduction skill should be enough to let him know Kakashi might be able to teach him in higher quality (because quantity he has copied 1000 Jutsu).
Earth? I don't really think so, is not really flashy and I don't see this Naruto focusing on defense/field control ninjutsu wer doton shines better.
And finally air, in Konoha only Azuma is considered a wind master (besides Danzó) and as far a I remember, he only might have seen him while teams where announced.
So... Yeah, that's my call, Doton is probably better for Sakura tbh, if her path is similar to Cannon, barriers or domes to protect injured would be useful, field control for support and if she managea to harden her skin added to the super strength, she might as well be the team tank... Something akin to a paladin

I want him with either wind or water.. They just seem to fit Naruto for me. If not those then earth because naruto seems like the type to get down and dirty.
I like Boruto a bit but they introduced characters that are too strong... Boruto will be stronger than Naruto or Sasuke cuz plot but I see no way for Sarada to match him considering she is just and ordinary uchiha. Not a reincarnation of a demi god or someone with even the rinnegan.

in the manga he is a wind affinity, while i do feel it works for him, i always felt that i limited him. i say go lightning. one because its my favorite affinity. two it the most balanced in my opinion. next to water its the most versatile of the elements.
Earth: is purely defensive. in my opinion. while it can attack its slow moving and heavy.
Water: while defensive can be devastating as an offensive front, but its more about fluidity and agility, and the naruto is not naturally fluid in his movements.
Wind: is almost purely an offensive element. while it can use wind as a wall, its far to easy to break through.
Fire: is purely an offensive element. and while still dense, he is showing he can use his head in battle and isn't all about just charging in firsthand.
Lightning: while not a fluid as water, is much faster than water, and when used properly, can create an opportunity to have plenty of sharp but agile attacks with some decent defense.
That's just why i think lightning should be his first element. but i do think that giving him earth as a second affinity would be really well balanced for him. sorry for the lengthy explanation on why i think he should have lightning.

lightning is cool and is easy work with since it can do about as much damage as you want it to.
fire is really hard to make work since it either does no damage or debilitating damage.
water is good but i can't really think of who would teach him any jutsu while kakashi has used some it's not alot.

What about Yin or Yang release? But otherwise Lightning release would be cool. Imagine what the rasengan would be like when Naruto puts lightning element into it.

Naruto, and I mean no offense, would go with what's coolest or try to find a reason for Kakashi to train him. Seeing as Kakashi has a lightning affinity he would either pick that or fire. Boruto is meh, in naruto the missions turned to A-S within reason, but in Boruto they just through Genin in S rank missions like nothing, so it's not really sticking with the og naruto style, not to mention their dragon ball approach to their moves.
