I really wanted to like this story but everyone just keeps making stupid decisions to kill ot for me. The intial plan made sense and was fantastic bit relise entirely on the secret staying secret. If it doesnt stay secret not only will Jon dies as a baby but house stark will likely be wiped out. The dragon egg wasn’t done the best buy I understand the need and want to give Jon a dragon plausibly. Marrying Jons grandma to a pirate lord i’ve said was dumb so i wont comment on it again but they in north are tring to keep things hush hush. The King is aware of the Targaryen aliance with that seallord so the North increasing trade with that sealord and now accepting his former first sword in Winterfell is absolutely retarded. Your gonna have Jon acting like a fruity little sword swallower sorry i mean dancer lol. If this story was written realistically right now kings landing who has an extensive spy network Tyron Lannister who has an extensive spy network would all realize how stupidly obvious the north is being about everything and the gig would be up; a catspaw would be sent to murder Jon in his crib and the story would be up. If Benjen had any sense he would have sent the sword dancer back where he came from with a message to tell the pirate lord to mind his buisness and never send anyone to the north again. Ned kept this secret for nearly 2 decades with nobody even his own wife suspecting anything hes been with benjen for less then 2 years and not only does Lord Manderley already know but many people already suspect not all is what it seems. Is the sword dancer really so valuable that its worth risking everything over. Jon was a fine swordsman in the books and the shows with Jory Castle for a teacher so the little dancer bring alot of risk and little reward.

The Arya Syrio master student relationship in cannon was both adorable and cool but it makes very little sense in this regard. Jon needs to be a Northman an actual Northman; the Northern Lords are gonna be hard pressed to fight to put a Targaryen on the thrown after they shed blood to remove one but thw best bet would be to make him a Targaryen that acts like a Northman. Giving him a fruity dancing swordsman as a sword instructor and mentor is about as far from being a Northman as possible. This is a terrible idea as a whole; the Jon and Margey marriage is a good idea which would be well excepted by westeros and give Jon the recource of the largest army in Westerosalso helps that Dorne would likely side with them just for revenge purposes but allowing Bravos influence would do more harm then good. Nobody wants foreign influence over their way of life and government. Best bet would be just to close that avenue and limit any kind of relationship. Kind of like in cannon when Danny was intent on bringing Dalthraki and insullied to westeros it may have worked solly due to her dragons causing fear of decent but the people would eventually grow to hate and resent her for it. You will always be a foriegn invader going that rout. I think selling herself to a pirate lord was a terrible direction anyway. If they have children theit will always be a foreign threat to her thrown. She basically set the stage for future Blackfyre rebellions were Bravosi pirates can try to steal the thrown using blood ties. 500k words of the most boring crap. No dragon yet lol had the eggs since they are baby but ... still eggs. By the time they get around to even starting a war we will be at 1million words. Tbh this is bleach level filler, maybe 50k words of content and the rest is filler conversation.

I'll start by saying that I've enjoyed multiple of this author's stories in the past and in general they are a pretty solid writer. With that out of the way I can generously describe this story as a dumpster fire that should be avoided if at all possible. Starting with tags this story 100% earns both the drama and angst tags so it would be nice if the story was tagged correctly so people knew what they were getting into. The plot starts solid setting up an alternate timeline but after about 100k words it starts dragging to a ridiculous degree to the point where I don't think anything significantly important happened in the last 250k words. Plot armor and author's license are used to an excessive degree the farther the story goes, i.e. characters teleporting around the world constantly, characters acting ooc whenever the plot needs them to, and characters getting crazy plot armor (looking at you chapter 21 and 22) to make the plot work. I'm not even going to start on how this story is half a million words with more than half of that being repetitive filler. This story started as a real story and by the end its this crazy combination of angst, constant filler, unlikeable characters, and unfinished plotlines. I would reccomend almost any other GoT or SoiaF fanfic over this one, don't waste your time.

Loved seeing that asshole Balon get his comeuppance! It was long deserved and so well executed. Guy's a total selfish, narcissistic piece of shit who's incredibly stupid and doesn't care about the effect his actions have on the people around him. Great job with this chapter and really amped for the next one. Looks like the Targaryens will have an ally in the Iron Islands and that should really work out wlel. Great work!

Good chapter. The mummery worked and Asha is free. Now she can be with family that loves her. Theon now has to hold on long enough to be freed from his vow when Aemon takes the throne. Tywin is no doubt stewing in rage. HA!
