Is system isn't overpowered, it is powerful yes and if he sticks with his current method only gaining around 10 points a day as you say it would take him over three hundred year's to become a super devil.
However as time goes on and he get's stronger he might figure our better or more efficient method's of increasing his power outside of the current one he is using.

Really like the premise of this snippet. He literally has to start of at the bottom in an even worse position than if he was a human.
