What about exoneration of Williams family? I believe General Williams did nothing wrong due his duty to protect civilians and marines from orbital bombardment. He kept defending Shanix at almost three months. There's no reinforcement from alliances during that duration of time. I don't know how long to travel to Shanix from Earth or Arcturus Station. I believe politicians keep delaying, shift the blame on others and other things. Also, General's son never rise from serviceman third rank for who know how many years till his death. that's lowest rank of alliance military. I think it's power abuse and discrimination against Williams family are disgusting and distressing. General Williams should be hero to defend as long as he can.

Thanix cannons are stronger for two reasons, their speed and their shape.
We have to imagine them as a jet of pressurized water, but metallic which cools while it flies, this makes it become a very long apdsf projectile and these increase their piercing capacity the longer they are since their way of piercing is by wearing down the shielding metal with your own.
Basically by launching a liquid jet of metal at more than 5 percent of the speed of light and depending on the amount of metal, it would be comparable to firing the weight of 3 or more Alliance battleship projectiles and at a higher speed.
I recommend that you look at simulations of tank shells and you will understand what I mean.
Just imagine an infinitely long projectile, but of small caliber and at very high speed, how could kinetic barriers stop that.

Beautiful chapter.
Rarely there are original side characters that get well written. But despite the fact that the entire squad had little "screen" time i really felt their deaths.
Especially Bulwark, you really wrote his character well in this chapter.
Overall i like the pace you set and am really looking forward to new chapters. Hope to hear from you soon.

Can we get a chapter attacking the collector base? After the EMP signal from chapter 24, maybe they have to dig for more reaper info and without one they feel comfortable attacking they go after the collectors to study the reaper building base. Imagine Haphestus dispersing the drone and digging through the ship graveyard. How many milenia of civilization history is hanging around there.

Id you are looking to up the stakes, you could run some side quests from non MC party perspectives. Nihlus Kryik had some interesting back story and could be fun to see some missions of his prior to selecting Shepard for the Spector program. Maybe he runs some missions partially orchestrated by the MC to improve council forces and strength. MC hires eclipse to strike at the citadel weak points the reapers used against them in the initial war. Council sees weak point and moves to strengthen and protect all similar weak points. We got some emotional attachment to Nihlus before Saren whacks him. Any mission could also refer to Galaxy events that tie in with other actions taken by MC and forces.
